Vertical black lines on a paper

SOME all in one printer SCANNERS like Brother and others can HAVE AN AUTOMATIC PAPER INTAKE on top of te device ( copy device )and if on the left side of the glass plate under the copy unit is a narrow glass strip to find that needs to be cleaned if there is a little spot of dirth on it then it will give a stripe on the same part after every copying session on all papers a small point can be very difficult to see, but if the small glass stripe is cleaned the problem is solved.

Black Stripe on outgoing faxes

If the stripe is a thin line, the scanner glass is dirty, if it is wide stripe you have a bad scanner block. EXPENSIVE

Black stripe running down left side of paper when

Open the top of the fax where your documents go in. There will be a thin **** of glass where the document is read. On the end that reads "dirty" is a smudge or some white-out that needs to be cleaned. You may have to clean it with some cloth wrapped on a flat tool. Do not scrap or scratch anything, just clean enough to get the dirt off. Then make a test copy.

Black stripe down right side of incoming faxes and copies, cleaned view window but still there and actually got worse.

pull your drum unit out and look at the top of it. you will see a blue plastic tab. that tab has got to be all the way on the left side. if not, it will cause a black stripe about 3/4" wide.

Black line on faxes

Check carefully the glass, a very small point of ink or anything else can cause the black stripe. usually  it is that the problem. use windex to clean it.

Blank vertical stripes on incoming faxes

1st. Print a report. If the blank stripes are still there, you must remove the drum and t6oner combination and clean the laser glass located on the bottom of the machine.
If the blank stripes do not appear, then the fault is on the scanner of the sending fax machine.
