I hav a nokia 1108 phone... the batery had swelling... but the sim was operating.. but now i hav replaced a new battery and it says sim card registration failed.. even if i put the old battery, it shows the same.. i think problem was because of the swelling.. so plz find me a solution.. or plz suggst me how i can retreive my contacts from the sim alone.. plzzzzz

have you tried the sim card on another phone? if you haven't, try it so you can retrieve you contact.

and as for the phone, the swelling of the battery have pressed the sim card making it have some space between it and the battery, so you can try to pad the sim card before inserting the battery.

best bet is for you to put the sim card in another phone. and if it cant retrieve the contacts, try to contact the communication service provider for a replacement of the sim so all those that have your contact can reach you in order to be able to get some of your contacts back. then always try to write down your contacts on a phonebook.
