These units are usually charged by plugging it into a Computers USB port, with the cable that came with the player.

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

After charging my sansa clip the unit will not turn on and I believe the battery must have died. How do I change the battery and where do I buy a battery

you should have some electronics experience before attempting a repair like this
rip off the black rubber back
if yours has screw righty tighty lefty loosey
if not cram a small screwdriver in very very carefully and break the back off without injuring yourself
than locate battery pack [looks like watch batteries
unsolder/UN-clip
take battery pack to radio shack [might as well get good ones]
now do the above steps backwards
super glue or black electrical tape [i used that]
or if you really want to impress gray duct tape maybe you could even bedazzle the project?
really its a throw away product i got out the magnifying glass and read the very not-so helpful owners manual that came with my Sansa view
hope this helps please vote

My Sansa Clip died after installing Rockbox!

Maybe installing Rockbox makes your device corruption. If plug the device to pc, the pc still recognize it, update new firmware from sandisk official site, http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/
Good luck

The mp3 player won't charge when I plug it into the computer and my wife's won't accept any more playlist

I dont know about the playlist. But if the Sansa LION battery goes too low it shuts down. When you plug it into your computer to charge the player, It usually powers up so the computer can detect the hardware being plugged into the USB port and provide power for charge.
You need to plug in the USB cable from the player to the PC and perform a system reset - Press and hold for 20 seconds the power on button and the play button (>||). this should work you may try it on your wifes player?

Sansa clip sandisk 2gb won't charge. Thought it was low and after plugging it in to computer overnight it wasn't fully charged but worked the next morning but suddenly died. Now it won't charge. Sansa...

I had the same problem this morning, albeit with my 8G Clip. Nothing worked -- the thing seemed dead as roadkill -- until I found a link about "forcing MSC mode." Basically, it told me to hold down the center button while plugging my Clip into my computer using my USB cable. Suddenly, boom! It's awake and alive and happy again. I'm unsure how that works, but that did it for me.

Sansa clip won't charge fully

If you have a phone charger with the same connector, plug in you Clip and leave it overnight. This will fully charge the battery. There is not enough power from the USB port.

Sansa Clip won't charge

Here's the thing, technically it doesn't need to be turned on because it's supposed to turn on by itself.

I've had a problem sort of like that. It might be the plug, but it also might be the computer. I'd either suggest try plugging it into another computer or getting a new plug.
