M-Audio KeyStudio is connected using the USB cable and the keyboard is turned on, but I get the message NOT CONNECTED. And, Pro Tools M-Powered Essential (ver. 8.02) says that it is Unable to find a M-Audio hardware device. I am using HP desktop computer with Windows Vista 32 bit SP2 operating system. AVID technical support told me that the keyboard is a plug and play. How do you make it work? I followed the directions and connected AVID technical support and their FORUM, but it still does not work.

Soltion is to download the software for Micro USB from M-Audio website and connect the USB of the Micro USB to your computer with headphones and mic connected to it and connect the USB cable from the M-Audio KeyStudio keyboard to the computer and the Pro Tools M-Powered Essential software will work.

While using korg m50 editor using usb data cable there is no sound from my lap.the sound is only from my head phone connected to my keyboard directly?

Are you connecting to the laptop and using it as a midi controller? You can record midi notes from the keyboard and send them to your laptop via USB using any midi sequencer program (reason, logic, etc). Create a midi track, select the input of that track as your keyboard, then hit record to play some midi notes. To hear what you record, you have to set the output of the midi track to whatever midi sounds or instrunents you have installed on your laptop.

If you are trying to record the actual audio sound the keyboard makes, use an audio program such as cubase, sonar, audacity, pro-tools, and either mic the keyboard, or connect one of the other audio outputs (1/4" TRS) to an audio input on your DAW, and record an audio track that way (as opposed to a midi track).

I am using pro tools 8 LE. I have a blue bluebird condenser microphone. the cable going into the mic is a male 3 pronged end. and the end going into my avid mbox mini is a normal ending (the ones that look...

The mbox mini is usb powered, wont work without power so your mac or pc must be powered on and connected. The blue led will be on when powered. Assuming you have the the appropriate cables, you want to make sure the condenser is plugged into the Mic/Line input. (Input 1 on the back of the mbox mini). All condenser mics require phantom power, so engage the +48V switch. Also make sure the DI (direct input) switch is not engaged. The input gain control is located on the front of the mbox... There needs to be speakers connected to the 1/4 output jacks on the back of the mbox or headphones on the front for sound output. Use the large knob for monitor volume control.
In protools: Create a Stereo Master fader track
Create a mono audio track
Set the input of the mono audio track to Mic/Line 1 Arm the track for record (click & make sure the R is red)
You should getting levels and sound output from your condenser.

I'm attempting to connect my new axiom pro 61 via Midi cables to my mbox2. To do this I understand I must rely on the power supply rather than USB. When plugging the axiom in to the wall it will not turn...

The AXIOM SHOULD turn on with just the wall wart adapter so you HAVE A PROBLEM.

First thing is to check the adapter that it is the correct one. It should be a 12 VDC 1 amp unit with positive center pin output.

Common adapters for pedals WILL NOT WORK.

Assuming you have the correct adapter, VERIFY the connector is plugged fully in the AXIOM.

I am installing Pro Tool M-powered 8. after the installation i can't open pto-tools because of this prompt "unable to locate M-Audio hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Please...

SOMETIMES these systems require the software to be installed BEFORE the unit is connected to the PC.

Sometimes you have to install the software in "safe mode" to get it to work.

Bent prongs in USB port on the m-audio keyboard

Sadly, not too much can be done. You COULD try to get in there with a small tool and bend them back, but I don't know how extensive then damage is. If you really know what you are doing, you could find an old device with a USB port on it, de-solder that port off, and solder it onto the keyboard. But If you try that, I really hope you know what you are doing. If not- time for a new keyboard. Or- get yourself a USB 2.0 hub and place it next to your keyboard. I have one stuck to the side of my PC with velcro tape.

Macbook pro does not detect digi 002 rack

yeah i have an intel imac and had the same problem. I upgraded to pt le 7.4 and now pro tools recognizes the 002 rack and it works fine, but still the core audio manager does not recognize the hardware. It says in "use" when I first turn on the 002 rack, then it says not connected after about 20 seconds. I don't think this really matters though because I have beeen able to do everything fine without having the core audio managr recognizing the 002 rack. I hope that helps
