Discharging Battery I am currently facing problems with the laptop (Parkard Bell EasyNote M5 - 262DW).When connecting the adapter to a power supply,the led @ the end of the adapter didn't turn on(the led normally turns green).I took the adapter to a technician and found one of the soldered joints had cracked and had it re-soldered.The adapters ok now, outputing 19 dc volts. The battery however doesn't seem to be charging and the laptop can't be powered because of this.The last time the machine blacked out, i was in BIOS setup. I checked the power status and it looked somthing like this: Battery status for Battery #1 Battery Name : Internal Battery Unique ID : NEC Corporation Internal Battery Chemistry : Lion Power State : Discharging Manufacturer : NEC Coorporation Please advise on how to go about this problem. Hmmm..try to run it with battery out completely, just from the power cord.

also, does the battery have one of those surface charge indicators, with the sliding scale?

also, plug the unit in overnight, off, and see if the adapter will charge the battery.

sometimes, you get voltage, but no current, and when the computer/battery come on line, the load will drop the adapter.

does the adapter light stay on, when connected to computer?

Battery may be dead, defective or dying.

Packard bell easynote r1938 laptop powers on then turns off
Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

option f2, go into bios setup and see if the hard drive is listed or detected. Auto detect hard drive save and exit. System will reboot if the same error occurs then the hard drive master boot record is probably corrupt or the hard drive has totally failed.

Parkard bell easynote screen
This is probably just a setting in Windows
Open Control panel and display settings.
Click on the Settings tab then click Advanced and look through the screens. there is a rotation option somewhere in there.
