When I power up, the moniter goes into "self check mode", then says "moniter is working correctly, check computer power and moniter cables". I hooked the moniter up to an old computer I have and it works fine. Must be a problem with the CPU? Any ideas?

The monitor usually goes to the power save mode if there is no Video signal input. Check your VGA/HDMI cable(the cable which is connecting the monitor and the system) try bloing air through the connectors and reconnect the cable properly. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.
Can you try the screen in another computer? I beleave the screen goes into power saveing mode when there is no input signal, thats what both my screens do.
if your monitor stopped working suddenly, then check if the cables are plugged in correctly. You can do this by looking on the backside of your monitor, check the connection of the power supply and the VGA cable (blue cap). Unplug it and plug it back again. Then follow the cables to the computer and the jack plug and do the same, unplug ang plug back in. Reboot the computer and reply here if there is something...
1. Check your cable
2. check your cable pins make sure there not bent.
3. Check your video card make sure its putting out the correct resolution for the monitor.
No signal is just what it is. You may have a bad cable, bent pin or video card is not operational.
Things you can try.
Hook it up to a diffrent computer
Check the pins on the cable.
Worse case would be the little board inside where the connector is could be bad.
ok sounds like you have a broken pin on your cable if you look in the end of the cable plug the part thet goes into the box but also check both ends if they are there
failing that take monitor to roof and heave ho away it goes
Hi I am a silver surfer but this is how I got it working First off get the program tou want to watch up on PC Moniter(screen) Then connect 3 cables Yellow cables / One end to tv other end to yellow hole rear of PC/TV Box
Grey cable small end goes in PC/TV Box just behind the wirds "kworld" other end goes into back of your Computer ,you need to check your Computer manual to see the which one is the connection to your Computer screen(moniter),mine was blue with 2 screws , disconnect this and screw in Grey cable
Black cable narrow flat end into front bottom of Computer ,other end intoPC/TV Box end hole next to yellow cable
Switch on TV and change AV until you see your program, sound will be thu your Computer Speakers NOT your TV
Generally, if connected to a system and the monitor is not getting a video signal from the system, the power LED will remain Amber. If you disconnect the Video cable from the system and then power on the moniter, you should get a self-test indication. If not, then you like have a problem with the LCD electornics, that is not user repairable.
If the monitor doesn't work on another system, try switiching the input slect button and try all modes to make sure the correct input is selected. If no change, then the monitor likely needs professional repair or replacement.
Take the post (power on self test) disconnect vga cable and connect power cable if monitor shows no signal check signal cable massage then monitor is ok fault is in cpu. open it and clean the dust
by vaccum cleaner you will get the display again
