You must set this program to install and run in "Compatibility Mode" for windows 95.
Right click on the installer setup exe and choose run in compatibility mode and check for Win '95. Do the same for the main EXE of the program too, also make sure you run BOTH as "Administrator"

I am looking to set up an old computer with new memory and hard drive. I have windows vista from my laptop computer can I install this into my newly updated computer and how.

Generally, the licensed software for your laptop is tied to that machine/brand. If you bought a copy of vista and installed it on the laptop, you may be able to install vista on three machines if that is the version you bought.
Most Microsoft programs are locked to one machine and won't activate on another system.
Now, if this is an old, slow (less than 1 Ghz) with less than 2 gigs, it probably will run Vista very slowly if you get it installed. I'd use the OS that was on the old machine instead of trying to install Vista.

Yes,
you need a Vista driver for this device, windows 95 shows how old it is !
If you are upgrading from WIndows XP to Vista delete all the mouse drivers in the device manager (under control panel).
Then let Vista install new ones.

I am looking for a monitor driver for Windows Vista for LT1919

Windows XP and Vista should "auto-detect" the capabilities of this LCD screen.

If not, access http://WindowsUpdate.Microsoft.com
and scan for updates.
When the scan is done, look for "optional hardware" updates.
If Microsoft has a driver, it will be offered for download.

Steering is sticking will not turn by it self

Microsoft Windows 95 is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Upgrade to Windows XP, or buy a new computer with Windows Vista pre-installed (and with a coupon for Windows 7).

Get your 95 FORD EXPLORER towed to a certified mechanic; it is *NOT* safe to drive the vehicle.

Vista

Unfortunately, one of Microsoft's less popular concepts when releasing Vista is the fact that Vista has no backwards compatability for programs or hardware. You will not be able to install those programs as long as you have Vista in your computer.

Customer Review:
Rating: stars-1.0.gif
Summary: outdated software
The software this kit comes with is old and outdated. It is not supported by Windows XP nor Windows Vista. The latest supported version of Windows is Windows 98.
It also appears that the included software is a limited trial software. It is limited to the included 3 catalogs (star maps). The complete set of catalogs must be purchased additionally at quite some expense.
The cable connection kit couldn't be reviewed because it was missing from the package I received, but keep in mind when you order this kit, that neither Windows XP nor Windows Vista support serial ports anymore. The additional USB to serial adapter would be required.

That last line would suggest to me that if one had a USB to Serial adapter it might work? but I really do not know for sure. checking into some more stuff...

Found another article that states "It requires a PC running Windows 98SE through Windows XP. It will not run under Windows 95 or earlier, nor will it run under Windows Vista."

OK I found this site, you might be able to make some sense of it. But I did read in there that they do make USB serial adapters that will work with Vista OS.

Good Luck and happy star gazing! If you find something new out there maybe you could name it after me if you get it working. lol
