Gx620 boots up, then screen goes blank, reboot gives blank screen with cursor blinking. will boot with cd but still shuts down after a minute or two.

Remove the battery and open the case. Look inside the computer with a flashlight to see if any of the capacitors are busted or leaking from corrosion. The capacitors look like little battery towers, but they are not as tall as the AA or AAA batteries.

If the capacitors are bad, your computer goes bunkers.

Will not boot...only blank screen with blinking cursor. how do I fix it

You have hard drive issues or windows files are corrupted, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, sometimes this will get the hard drive working, if this fails! set the boot order to DVD CD and try and run the recovery disc, if no change! it means the hard drive has issues and may have to be replaced.

Hi, when I turn on the Acer Aspire 5920, the acer screen comes on, the bar across the bottom moves, then it goes to a blank dark screen with a blinking cursor. I have tried turning off and turning on and...

Check if your hard rive indicator light is flashing (has disc shape icon or can shape icon next to it). If it is then put in your windows disc and do a startup repair. Make sure it is booting from the disc drive first. if it isnt flashing then you may have a dead hard drive. Try taking the hard drive out and putting it back in.

Building new computer with ASUS M2A motherboard and AMD 749 processor. Computer starts, displays ASUS setup screen, goes to blank screen with blinking cursor and then hangs up.

Try to check connections to hard drive...If OK..then check boot device priority in BIOS and change 1st boot device as Hard drive..Then If not worked then chnage 1st boot device as cd rom and boot from a bootable CD and installl OS..
