Right under screen there should be a button, or the f8 key I think is another one. You can also search you computer for Wireless Assistant which will turn it on for you.

Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router with the wireless computer.
you will need to connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
check the IP address of the computer.
open the router set up page of the router.

Laptop keeps disconecting from belkin54g dsl network (home)

Wireless connections are best when distances are short and there are no brick or thick walls interfering with the signal between the router and your laptop. Try the following test:
Start using the laptop from an open location that is close to the router. Monitor the signal strength as you walk away from the router. Go into other rooms, go upstairs, downstairs, etc, and you will most likely notice differences in signal strength depending on where you are, or how far you move. Of course, you will suffer frequent disconnections when the signal is at its weakest point, no matter what equipment you use, be it new or used.
Try locating the router in a way that your signal strength is strongest, without affecting the other computers. It's a trial and error thing.
One last thing you could do is to go to your wireless adaptor configuration settings and set the Roaming capability to agressive, and set the connectivity to distance, for higher performance.
Good luck!

well maybe you have to connect properly, fist of all i only know the windows vista version but go to .start, connect to, then a list of all available routers will appear, select yours (or the 1 your using). it will then ask you for a password, type it in. click connect. wait for it to load and there you go
