Question about KitchenAid Blenders

1 Answer

Whilst blending some vegetables I accidentally knocked the glass jar which rocked it, and the small base part that is connected to the whizzer broke. Now of course it won't work at all. Can I replace the cog at all? I am so disappointed as I use my Kitchen Aid blender every day. Many thanks. Pauline

Hi, you have broken the coupler (sometimes called a coupling). It is relatively cheap and easy to replace. In the UK, K A Parts Limited sell them here and provide removal instructions here.

Blender glass jar is leaking at base

It will either be the rubber gasket (it goes between the glass jar and the blade assy) or it could be a worn bearing/bush around the chopping blade shaft. Replace either the gasket or the blade assy.

Starbucks Glass jar replacement for blender

I bought an Oster 6 cup glass and it works perfectly on the Starbucks Barista blender. It has to be the 6 cup NOT the 5 cup or the blade mechanism won't fit. the 6 cup screws right on your old blade base and it was $10 new on Ebay including free shipping.

Leaks from the bottom of the glass jar. Bought a new gasket and it is worse than ever.

Are you sure you are installing the gasket correctly?

Leaks are usually the result of a misaligned or cross-threaded blender jar base or from the gasket being installed incorrectly. Make sure the gasket is installed between the blade assembly and the screw on base.

Replacement parts

You need the blending jar seal. Order that and other parts for the blender here assuming they still support your model based on the manufacturing date code. (The manufacturing date code is generally found on a white sticker and will begin with a CA, DR, XM, or W followed by 4 numbers, or a # (number), letter, # (number), # (number) combination):

Depending on the material, some blender seals can be maintained with a little bit of vegetable oil.

I hope this helps.
