Hi there, check the connectors first, hear the unit if there's a beep sound when switch on, try to replace the lcd first with working one, do some test by identifying which is failling. do some check up. ty

Because 98 percent of all desktop cold cathode fluorescent lamp back-lit lcd monitors use the same basic lighting technology, it will be in your best interest to view some video clips of CCFL back-lit lcd monitor repair on YOUTUBE just for info on typical causes of black or blank n black screen symptoms and how some owners do repair on the cheap! Yes, your unit may have BAD capacitors on the power supply printed circuit board or one "thermally intermittant" component solder joint which will need to be resoldered. Just do some research first. When the LCD monitor display flickers and or has a black screen then the fault is usually a faulty inverter or the CCFL lamp. When you look at the screen at a sharp angle and you see a dim image then it is a backlight problem and it is caused by a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp. probably failure in the LCD controller IC in the lcd controller board. that no signal was sent out to the lcd driver IC thus you could only see white display. A replacement of LCD panel is the best solution. I suggest to bring the unit to an authorized service center to properly diagnose & fix the problem. regards
Canon would have to fix this for you. The fault may be the screen itself, or the LCD viewfinder drive IC on the camera's circuit board. In this case they will replace the circuit board.
You must focus to mainboard of LCD monitor find the voltage regulator IC. Voltage test the regulator IC use digital or analog multimeter range 10v dc connect the negative to cold ground, these regulator providing a constant supply of 2.5 - 5v to all IC in the mainboard. check the scalar IC. Because scalar IC will convert analog input signal of Red, Green & Blue. Lastly check the controller board, check the ribbon cable connector from mainboard to
controller board for lose, check the fuse inside controller. I think the exact problem of your monitor could be either the (mainboard) or (LCD panel where the controller board is located).
