Okay, the serial number that you enter at Goodmanmfg.com should be 10 digits long. I sometimes have trouble enterring unit for warranty purposes and because I have mild case of dylexia, I sometimes transpose numbers. You may check the order of the 10 digits again when you write them down and again when you enter them into the website. If someone else has inadvertantly enterred your serial number for another unit because they enterred the wrong number, you will not be able to register your unit on line. You will need to the call the warranty desk of Goodman and register it with them over the phone. They will probably send a message to whoever the number is currently registered so the correct number can be updated on their unit. If for nothing else the people I have talked to at Goodman warranty are really nice people and they will help you get this straightened out. You can always get your contractor to register the unit if he has not already done it. I do it for my clients all the time and I try to remind them I have it registered. You might call them and see if they did it with out your knowledge.
Hope this helps
The key to telling how old a furnace is the serial number, it is encoded in the serial number as the week and year, so the first 2 numbers are the week of the year and the second 2 numbers are the year.
Example: ??3491?????
this would be the 34th week of 1991, there are other numbers in the serial number, but what you are looking for are 4 numbers in a row, first 2 numbers will not exceed the weeks in a year, and the second set of numbers will be the year.
I hope this helps, this number reading is usually true in most furnaces and air conditioners, there are exceptions, but it usually holds true.

On the bottom of the indoor unit should be a cover or tray. Sometimes a large grill inside the house, close to the unit is where they are placed. Good luck
sounds like the fan switch in the furnace is coming on and off. This is common for Goodman. or could be the heat anticipator on the t-stat. While there are several reasons this happens these are the most common.
