I have an Ariston electric oven that seems to get too hot & burns

I have an Ariston electric oven that seems to get too hot - we've already had the thermostat replaced but it still burns a slice/cake after 10 mins of warming and then 10mins of cooking and then shuts of automatically. Help ... I don't know what to do!

You can try going to a lower wattage element. EX: Our oven can take a 2500 - 5500 watage element. The lower the wattage, it won't heat up as fast/hot.Plus it saves on your power bill over time. Go to the Ariston website, or find your element number and check the web for a lower wattage.

Don't worry my wife does the same thing. Not sure if your talking about the range top or the baking potion. We'll assume the baking area. If your using cheap bakeware that could be part of the problem try using a different cake or loaf pan of heavy construction. Also you may try reducing your temp in 25 degree increments to see if your oven runs hot. Example buy 3 cheap frozen pizzas and if they say value at 400 try 375 , 350, and 325. If one of those temps gives the desired result assist accordingly and consider contracting Bosch customer service to inquire about how to fix thermostat errors.hope that helps I didn't have much to work with.

When baking the oven doesn't bake evenly and always bakes quicker than the time on recipes. Items burn and the middle is raw. Can the oven be recalculated to work better?? John

Electric ovens are always different from gas ovens. You have to set the temperature on average 10-15 degrees lower and watch out 15 minutes earlier if you are baking cakes, 5 mins for cookies etc. Always bake in the centre of the oven. use a metal bowl of water in another tray which may help balance out the temperature

The recipe is the one to follow, NOT stove. And always in center rack of oven. Too low burns underneath, too high burns top

An electrician installed a new element in my electric fan oven. since then the oven seems too hot even on the lowest temp. my cakes come out burnt!! does anyone know what the problem might be? many thanks

probably when the element failed the fault current damaged the thermostat contacts. it can weld them together .a new thermostat will be the answer.

Temperature control with gas ovens is not an exact science. However the control should be better than you say.

Have you tried reducing the set temperature to compensate for the 'overshoot'. It may be worth a try.
