4. In case if the lights wont come on.
5. Check the powerline ..
6. And if that will not work , get a new adapter or replace the existing one from netgear ( 1-888-638-4327 )

I got a NETGEAR router and I have been trying to get my Motorola SURFboard to recognize it. I had the USB connection installed and the NETGEAR uses ethernet, so I tried to install the ethernet but my...

The Cable modem must be disconnected from the computer. You cannot use USB and Ethernet at the same time.

1. Turn off power to the Cable Modem and the Netgear Router. Do the same with the computer.
2. Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the router's WAN (Internet) port.
3. Connect another ethernet cable from one of the remaining 4 LAN ports on the router to the computer's ethernet port.

4. Now power on the Cable Modem ONLY. Wait for the modem to sync up with your service provider
5. After about 2-5 minutes power up the router and wait about 1-2 minutes.
6. Now power on your PC.

Check and see if you have internet access. If not you may have to uninstall any cable modem software related to USB connection. if this is the case, then you may have to repeat steps 4-6.

Since most cable internet providers do not use proprietary connection settings, your internet connection should be up and running without changing any settings in the router or modem.

If this does not resolve your issues, we can continue to work with you.

I have charter internet speed of 25 mbs going through my router...and I can wirelessly get that speed or greater on my pc....However my Netgear powerline adapter XET1001 85mbs (which is connected to the...

Powerline data transition speed can be effected by many things. Distance, equipment producing electrical noise on the power lines, being on separate circuits, or even running though power filters or surge protectors can cause slow or failed connection.

Make sure the adapters are connected directly into the wall, remove any electrically noisy equipment on the circuit between the adapters, and try to make sure the adapters are on the same electrical circuit. These things should help.

Motorola Surfboard 4220 not working with my Netgear WGT624 router

Make sure that you have the ethernet cord from your modem plugged into the WAN/Internet port on your router. Then unplug the power cord from your cable modem and plug it right back in. After the modem fully comes back online, unplug the power cord on the wireless router and plug it back in. wait 30 - 60 sec and then try and connect.

Most cable companies only allow one active"CPE" at a time for internet access. All this means is when you change what is connected to the cable modem you must always reboot the cable modem to allow access.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it does not work.

Trouble installing XE102 Powerline

there wasn't actually any problem with the device. For these bridges to work, you need to be on the same phase of the wiring. If the devices are on different phases then they can't communicate. But I still couldn't get the encryption to work. Netgear support doesn't seemed to be bothered with that...they told me to ignore it.

Netgear xe102 isnot picking up an ip address

-- Xe102 is a plug n play powerline device
-- there is no specific configuration required for that .
-- try hard resetting from the reset hole on the back of the device
-- then get the powerline checked
-- check the light status of the powerline device.
And if the problem still persists , upgrade the powerline device ..
