Whenever I have a really bad thunderstorm that ends up in a power outage my wii does the exact same thing...

I don't know what the cause is but what you should do is just unplug it for about 12 hours (about how long i leave it unplugged everytime), plug it back in and if it is the same problem as I have it should work fine (until another power outage...)

BUT if it still doesnt power up leave it unplugged for another 6 hours, after that if it still wont turn on id call nintendo and find out what the problem is...

Main breaker can't be stitched back on after neighborhood power outage in our home, yet all the neighbors have power except us! Why are we the only ones without power?

You're trying to load the entire house on the main breaker all at once. There significantly less stress on the main breaker if you start it like this:

1) Shut off all the circuit breakers.
2) Turn on the main circuit breaker.
3) Turn the other circuit breakers on, one at a time.

Good luck!

Wii won't turn on after a power outage.

Hey, recently had a power outage and now your Wii won't turn on?

Well unless your Wii is completely fried from the storm then this should work (It has for me every time I have had an outage).

After you find out it's not getting power then just unplug the power cable from the wall and from the Wii. Normally I unplug it for about 12-24 hours then you go plug it back into the wall, plug it back into the Wii, look at the power button and if it is red/orange then it has been fixed and you should never have a problem with it again unless you keep it plugged in during a thunderstorm/power outage!

This has happened to me about 8 times and this method worked every single time!

Our nintendo wii will not turn on ever since we had a power outage which honestly only lasted like 10 seconds

Some devices can have serious problems when a power outage occurs, i would reccomend contacting nintendo support about the problem.

Power outage this am. Wii won't even turn on

Usually, after a power outage, a power spike (when the power returns) can disable/blow the fuse in the AC adapter for the Wii.

Try the following steps in this order:

FIRST:
- unplug the Wii's power cord from the wall, and leave it unplugged (from 5 mins. to 5 hours). Then, plug it back into the wall. (Unplugging the power cord from the back of the Wii will not help. You need to unplug the power cord from the wall.)
- This usually helps reset the fuse circuit in the AC adapter, and your Wii should work again.

SECOND:
- open the panel on the AC adapter box in the power cord; since the screws are proprietary, you will need to creatively use existing tools to turn the screws
- check the 3A fuse in that box; if it looks blown, then replace it

THIRD:
- it might be cheaper to replace the AC adapter with another one

FOURTH:
- get the unit repaired

MUST DO:
- buy a SURGE PROTECTOR power bar, and plug all of your expensive items into it (to prevent this from happening again).

Hope that helps!

Power Outage & Now Wii Won't Power Up...

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.

Won't turn on

Best suggestion I can tell you is try unplugging your Wii for 2 minutes. Then plug it back in, and try again. I know it sounds weird, but I've done it for a few things after power outages/surges.
If that doesn't work, contact Nintendo.
