Your mouse won't be sending enough information to the laptop for it to be required to be a 2.0 usb mouse. Any USB mouse will work with any laptop. Plug it in, give it a few seconds, start using. The drivers the mouse needs are stored inside the mouse, it automatically installs them.

You can get a USB mouse from walmart. Here's a decent one. I wouldn't get a retractable cord mouse, but that's just personal preference.

I have a acer notebook 5532-5535 my mouse curser is frozen in the middle of my screen i have tryed fn f7 and fn f6 niether is working to un freeze my touch please help me

reset by going to start and tiping in word mouse it will bring your mouse settings up and change settings from there you might have to restart system first so mouse will move.

First of all check whether the touch pad is lock (Fn+F7(?)). If you use an external mouse/ usb mouse, check usb cable connection, as long as you didn't drop it on the floor it should be ok. If the built in touch pad doesn't work, could be caused by ribbon cable connectivity that has dirt or moist. To fix it need to open the upper case

Thanks. The Fn F7 idea did not work, the Enable/Disable toggle in Control Panel made no difference BUT the simple pressing of the TINY finger pointing next to the power button DID work. Duh!

Acer Aspire PC Notebook 5315 touchpad not working.

Hey in the control panel, go to the mouse, then look for the properties that have a PS/2 compatible mouse, you can change its settings there by sellecting other compatible mouse instead of PS/2, and also there is a settings or a check box that says the onboard mouse of your laptop will be disable if a usb mouse will be pluged.hope it soved your problem, :)
