Not getting any image on my Acer 1913 monitor. It is powered up, I have tried another pin cable and attempted the reset on the front panel. Help!

1. PC Monitor
   • 1Check the color balance options on your monitor. Typically, there is a button on the monitor itself that can be used to enter the Settings menu and configure color. The color balance may have somehow been changed, resulting in the pink image.

   • 3 Check to see if the cable connecting the monitor to the computer is loose by lightly jiggling the connector at both points. If it's loose, this could be the cause of the display error. Secure the connection and see if the issue has cleared up.
     
   • 4 Check the connectors themselves for bent or damaged pins. A damaged pin can cause a faulty connection, which can lead to errors like a pink-tinted screen. If the pins are just bent, you can try to bend them back into place with a pair of needle nose pliers. If they are otherwise damaged or missing, you'll have to replace the cable itself.
     
   • 5 Perform a factory reset of your monitor if replacing the cable has not repaired the issue. Instructions for a factory reset vary from one model and manufacturer to the next, so consult your owner's guide for detailed instructions.
     
   • 6 Connect your computer to a different monitor if the problem persists after factory reset. If the problem persists with a new monitor, the issue is likely with your video card. If this is the case, consult the card's manufacturer for detailed diagnosis and assistance. If not, your monitor may be damaged and incapable of rendering a properly colored image. Take it to a repair professional for repair or replace it.

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the main wires go to from the Front panel, is the Front panel header.

Motherboard installed in computer, the Front panel header is at the Bottom/Right.

TOP row of pins is numbered EVEN.
BOTTOM row of pins is numbered ODD.

Starting on the LEFT side going towards the Right, TOP row:
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, (NO 10), 12, and 14. Again, there is NO Pin 10.

Starting on the LEFT side going towards the Right, BOTTOM row;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED. (Light)
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

2) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

3) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED (Light)
Pin 2 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the PWR LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

4) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

5) The rest of the pins are N/C. Not Connected.

Don't forget to plug the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable in,
(Top left corner),

Do not know what the Front Panel header pinout is.

(Front plastic part of computer tower is the Front Panel.
Area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires (Cables) from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header )

CAN see by clicking on - View full size image - that the Front Panel header is to the Top Left corner of the motherboard, by the CMOS battery.
(View of mobo is upside down, in relation to how it actually sits in the computer tower case)

Shows me it is just the normal two rows of contact pins used in a LOT of desktop computer mobo's. (MOtherBOard)

If it were I, I would use one of the LED lights connected to two wires, and touch across each two sets of pins.

Looking at the motherboard as it sits in the computer case, there is a row of pins on Top, and a row of pins on Bottom.

In your mind start at the LEFT side of the pins at the TOP.
Number them from Left to Right.
Example, Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Now number the pins on the Bottom, from Left to Right,
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10.

Computer plugged into power, touch the two wires of the LED light, to Pins 1 and 2.
Computer doesn't start? (Power Supply turns on)
Go to the next set of pins.

I am willing to bet Pins 5 and 6 turn the Power Supply on.
No? Keep experimenting.

What will happen if you touch the WRONG pins?
N-O-T-H-I-N-G
You will NOT hurt the motherboard.

When you get to the correct pins, the Power Supply will turn on.
These pins are for the Power On switch.

Now go back through the pins with the Power Supply on, but DO NOT touch the pins that turned the Power Supply on.

When the LED light STAYS on, you have the pins for the Power On LED light.

If the LED light BLINKS, you have the HarDDrive activity LED light.

If Windows starts to load, and you touch the Restart switch pins, the computer will restart over again, and Windows will load again.

(IF this computer has a Restart switch. I do NOT use one, even for the older computers. Just press CTRL, ALT, and DELete keys at the SAME TIME, to restart the computer, or use the Task Manager option)

One pin left all by itself? That is for 5 Volts, and only used by the factory. Leave it unconnected.

There may also be a blank spot on the Front Panel header, where it looks like a pin is missing. This is the KEY pin, and is not used.
It is just to orient where the other pins are.

Worried about getting shocked?
There may be a small spark, as you connect the wires, I will gramnt you that.
But the voltage is 5 VOLTS DC.
In comparison two D cell flashlight batteries produce 3 VOLTS DC.

The harmful AC voltage is contained in the metal enclosure, of the Power Supply. Can't get you unless you pour water on it close up, or stick a metal rod through one of the ventilation holes, in the Power Supply enclosure.

this is all i could find from the internet.
You can try a power reset to see if that helps. To do a power reset, unplug the power cable and press and hold the power key for 10 seconds. Then, release the power key and plug the monitor in and attempt to use it. If you are still unable to get a proper display, We would suggest contacting technical support to inquire about warranty repair options. Many of our monitors carry a 3 year warranty, so there is a chance you may still have warranty left.

I have this same problem. Blinking amber Light and no display. on close examination I am seeing the video image attempt to come up, but with no back lighting. I think there is a power supply problem. I will post again if I learn more.

Inverter and backlight are obviously working if the screen lights up, which, leaves the video cable.
One method is to remove the switch panel cover, starting from the sides and gently unsnapping it and then pressing down on the connector that fits on the motherboard, where the cable from the monitor goes. If gently and then firmly pressing the connector (wear rubber gloves to avoid static), gets the screen to power up with an image, place a bit of wadding over the connector, just enough to keep pressure on and refit switch panel.

If that fails I think you are looking at a new cable

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Sorry in the 1st instance for my lack of specific knowledge when it comes to ACER hardware.

Is the model of your MOTHERBOARD - Acer m464?

If so do you happen to still have a manual that came with the motherboard?

Sometimes you can see the pinout in white writing on the mainboard itself near the connector block... have a close look and see if it is there.

The pin out for the connector block will definately be in the mainboard manual. If you don't have the manual then you'll need to do a little searching for it... I'm sure a .pdf of it will be floating around... i guess start at the ACER site.

On the rack mount chassis, are the plastic chassis connectors grouped (ie. 2 wires into 1 connecter for pwr led, etc) or are they individual single pin connectors?

Either way for each group, one should have a little TRIANGLE on the opposing side to the writing. Conventionally this is your positive (+) pin when looking at the pinout diagram. Ensure you have correct polarity for all ur connections obviously.

Cant say for sure. The display seems to be working, and the computer signal seems to be the problem. It could be a faulty cable. Check the pins on the cable monitor and see if they are bent, etc.
If the connectors are Ok, it could be the converter or the main board that has the fault. This could be caused by a power surge, or just a mechanical failure.
There is no easy diagnosis for this\ one, without actually checking the parts. I would recommend taking it to a repair place.
