Question about Aquacal HEAT PUMP 120,000 BTU H135 -

I have a AquaCal Heatwave H125C-A Pool Heater. The Heater is working in that the power is going on and the air is blowing- although- the air is usually colder than the outside air and now it is only air temperature and not heating the pool. I am in South Florida. Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with the pool heater?

the barb split and broke off what looks like a nut which is connected to the top of the heat exchanger.

Sounds like your compressor is not running. After your fan goes on in one to five minutes you should hear the compressor kick in. If it does this and then kicks out again it can be something as simple as water flow and you can adjust the valves to get more or less flow to keep it running. If not you probally need a repairman. It is ether your compressor or the capicators that start the compressor and this is all high voltage. Good luck.

if heater is calling for heat and running is heater lit? if so water is prbably going through heater so fast it isnt heating to your feel you might want to install a bypass valve and only let 50 percent of water through see if that works

is this a pool heater? if so check voltage from transformer to panel.
if you have 24 to 30 volts it is likely a bad panel

Flo light stays on unit wont start

if you have backwashed filter(sand) and or cleaned your cartridge filters it probably the pressure switch. locate it and check connections...replacing it is fairly cheap and easy to do

AquaCal Model 120 AHDEBNC message on panel wont clear. Message is FLO. There is water flowing thru the heater and the filter is clean

If you have a by-pass, (This will be a pipe that runns in between the in and out pipes on the heater) The valve must be almost closed in order to get enough volume through the heater to get it to run.
Make sure that heater has enough time to respond to this adjustment. It will take up to five minutes to start.

I turned on my heater yesterday after not using for about 6 months and it ran fine for a few minutes then I heard a loud "pop" coming from the heater somewhere and it tripped my fuse panel at the controls and the main pool pump fuses at the main. I reset and tried this again twice. It runs for a few seconds then a loud "pop" and fuses trip. Pump and rest of sytem appears fine. Unit is 7 years old.
