First off remove the battery and , put it in a warm and dry place for a few days. If that doesn't help open the Laptop and clean and dry it out as much as you can. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an Laptop. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party Laptop Repair Services.

If it fell in the water a few minutes ago.. then quickly dry it with a hair dryer. keep the dryer in a distance though.
if it is longer than a few minutes then take it as soon as posssilbe to a technician to take it apart and dry to clean the internal parts.

Stuck Computer System

It might be something as simple as a hung update. Hold the power button down until it powers down and turn it back on again. It will prompt you asking how you want to start Windows. Just choose "Start Windos Normally". If that does not work then then power down again and the next time choose "Last know good config".

My HP DV6000 beeps 4 times and I end up with a black screen and the power button Flashing

Most likely a memory problem. If you have more than one stick of memory, remove one and try it.
If that doesn't work, remove the other one and replace the one you took out.

Normall hibernation can resume from a selection of key / mouse touches.

Screen dim HP pavilion dv1000

The lid actuator switch may not be working correctly. It's a small switch above the keyboard and led's on either the right or left side. Try pressing it 2 or 3 times to see if the display starts working correctly again. If so, it will need to be replaced.

If that doesn't work, you can also turn it on with the ac adapter plugged in. After it boots, press the power button and hold it in until it shuts off and then turn it on again and see if the display has returned to normal.

If neither of these options work, your laptop may need to have the backlight replaced.

Hp pavilion will just power on but not booting nor comes up on screen

Hi Lordztech,

Sorry about the problems you are having with your hp pavilion. Please try these few steps out and you;ll fix the problems.

Step 1. You power and it does not boot........just press the power button and hold until it powers off. Then moved on to pull off the battery of your hp pavilion. Get the battery back on and power the system on again. If the error continues please move on to step 2.

Step 2. If step two refuses to work then you would need to test the RAM on your HP to ensure that it's not damaged.

Step 3. Check the hard disk and ensure that it works properly as well. This last two steps should fix your problem.

One of the hard wares mentioned in Step 2 & Step 3 could be damaged.

Kind Regards
