How can I access a work email account from my home computer?

Sue,There are several ways to access your work email from home, depending on the type of email client used at work and whether or not your place of work restricts email access to an internal server or intranet. If your work email is restricted to a server located at work, you will need to consult with your employer to obtain access to your work email through a virtual private network (VPN). VPN access will allow you to connect to your work's email server from a remote location; however, if your work email is set up on a web mail account, you can most likely access your work email from any location with Internet access as long as you have your username and password information. You can also obtain email server information from your employer to access work email on your mobile device. Info provided by wikiHow

Cannot send email but I can receive email. What is the problem? Yahoo email

Hello, ''Wanda'' sorry, for your problem. If you're able to receive but unable to send mail using your POP mail client (such as Outlook), please review the possible troubleareas below. SMTP Server In the fight against unsolicited commercial email (spam), some Internet service providers require their subscribers to send mail through the ISP's own SMTP servers. If you experience problems sending email, please contact your ISP to determine if it requires different SMTP server settings. Youwill need to use the ISP's SMTP server in place of Yahoo!'s SMTP server when configuring your POP mail client. The following is a partial list of ISPs that require you to use their SMTP servers. If your ISP is among them, try replacing the Yahoo! SMTP server with the ISP server in your POP mail client settings, or consult the ISP's help files. If your ISP does not appear in the list below, please contact your ISP directly for more information. Thanks

I NEED MY OUT GOING SERVER INFO

Unfortunately, this is unique information that no one a FixYa will knows.

You need to contact your email provider for their specific server info.

If their outgoing server settings do not work call you Internet provider and use their outgoing server.

If this helps please vote for my solution.

Not getting my email pop3 keep coming up wait for 60 sec . some **** like that.

This is either a configuration issue, firewall issue or an email user name/password issue.

Go to the website of your email web host to obtain the configuration information for your email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird). Most large service providers have this info on their site. If not the information can be found doing a simple search. I recommend Google. The information should include setup for the SMTP and POP servers. It will look something like this example:

pop.server.hostname.com
smtp.server.hostname.com

This is critical and is how your PC establishes communication with the email server. Verify that the information in your email configuration matches exactly. Also make sure there are no spaces in the field where this information is entered.

Verify the ports used for email.
SMTP uses port 25 or may use port 587 optionally
POP uses port 110
Make sure that if you are using a 3rd party firewall application that the firewall is configured to allow traffic on the above ports. If the traffic is blocked no email.

Next is the user name and password.
Most mail host set your email address as your user name.
Password can be reset with a call to the support desk fto your mail host. Be prepared to have your email address, account number, and be authorized to access the account for help when you call.
Once the new password is setup, enter the information into the email configuration.

Make sure to send a test message to verify the workings.

I cannot get my email address registered . i need a server #

You'll be able to get the server information from your isp or email provider's website. In fact, there should be an article there to walk you through the setup process. Here's an example for windows mail, and here's an article that includes many of the common port numbers.
If using defaults isn't working for you, I'd suggest you check your ISP's site for email setup info.
Otherwise, let us know what program you're using for mail, who the email account is with, and what your isp is, and we'll be happy to help you sort it out.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

I can receive e-mails but I cannot send them

by the sounds of it its not that hard of a fix, I take it you are using outlook or similar
alot of the time people forget that you have to set the outgoing server manually this would cause the error you suggested above.

alot of the time it requires authentication

if you start up your outlook and then on the top menu goto tools from the tools menu you will then click on the account settings then double click on the email account that is having the issue.

A new window will now popup

then click on the outgoing server tab and then here is where we adjust your settings for you outgoing server setting

check the box next to "my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication"
then check the login using and fill in your login info here now we can try this setting first to see if that helped or if we need to put a check mark in the box that says
"require secured password authentication"

also the outgoing server port number might not be correct as well if you have the correct information from your provider that should be put in here then it would be great
this is found in the advance tab

let me know how you made out and if its a different email client or you need more info im more then willing to help out and try and get this issue resolved for you so that you can get those emails sent.

please consult your isp or email host for proper setup

D-Link cant send email on outlook

You need to check your mail account settings and make sure the SMTP server is set to the fully qualified domain name of your ISP's SMTP server. Your ISP should be able to tell you what this is. You may be able to figure it out by looking at which server is set in the POP3 settings. It will likely be similar if not the same.
