Well, I go to the Support Center, and click on scan and it says: No Scanner found.
Also when I go into the other apps and try to scan they say select a source and give a drop down menu, but there are no sources to select. :S

  • saganic0 Feb 15, 2008

Nope, I have re-installed several times, this does not help.
    Any more Solutions or Workarounds?
Like for example a different scanner driver that I can use through the Add Hardware wizard?
I dont usually ask for help. Im usually the one solving. =]
    Thanks again
    Chris

    Scanner not working.

My first time scanning something on this printer/fax/scanner I bought last summer. When I push "scan" of "scan to", my scanner says to refer to the device documentation for troubleshooting. ???? I'm sure I've misplaced my device documentationa and I don't know what troubleshooting means.

HP OFFICEJET J5780 HOW TO GET SCANNER TO WORK

To get the scanner working this is what you should do. First, do not install the software for Officejet All-in-one J5780. Instead of this, install HP Officejet All-in-one J5700, you can get it from the HP website. I do not know why but this software makes the scanner work. You can then install J5780 which will delete some of the old files but will keep the scan file on.

Mirror imaging

This is most likely a printer driver setting. When going to print, check the printer driver settings and make sure you are not set to something like "backprint film" or "T-shirt transfer" paper. Basically, any setting that would logically reverse the image.
