I've seen this happen to a lot of people I know. If it's under warranty still, then send it in. They will most likely end up sending you a new one anyway.
If the warranty has expired, then you'll most likely end up having to buy a new one. Unless you know someone who is good at fixing small electronics and doesn't charge much.

I have hk3385 receiver and Ipod Touch 4G. I have the cable to connect them. Where do I hook the cable on the receiver (or do I?) and which buttons will play the Ipod music. No video, just music

The manual suggests that you use "A / V 3" (audio / video input 3) for your iPad / iPod audio input. These are the RED and WHITE jacks on the front lower right hand side of the receiver. The YELLOW jack is for composite VIDEO, and need not be connected for "audio only" programs.

Turn the volume on the iPod / iPad to MINIMUM (assuming the receiver volume is at a "normal" setting for the radio, CD, etc.). Connect the cable between the iPod / iPad and the A / V 3 RED and WHITE audio jacks. Select A / V Input 3 on the receiver. Find a song you want to listen to and select PLAY in the iPod / iPad. Slowly adjust the volume on the iPod / iPad up to a comfortable level. If there is distorted sound, adjust he receiver and iPod / iPad volumes up and down as needed. Generally, neither should be set very low or very high.

You can download the owners manual here.

I hope this helps & good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks!

Audio Distortion after System Crash

sorry for the late reply. im using windows. im quite sure that there's no virus involved with the distortion of my sound. this is what happened.

1. im surfing the net while listening to music(full volume)
2.)then suddenly the sound gets a bit distorted(jumps, skips)
3.)then everything hangs up which forced me to reboot
4.)the windows loading screen became too long(like 5mins) before it takes me to the main desktop(start up programs loads like 48 years also).
5.)when i play music ,the sound is very much(like alien,"rrrrrrr")

i tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing was fixed. i've even tried Regcure.

i just formatted my notebook and voila its back to normal.
i dunno but i think playing loud music using laptop, or in my case notebook speakers would cause this problem. im using external speakers now and i've got no problems. i just hope that there would be a fix to this problem so that i wont have to reformat if the problem occurs again

Volume stays low won't increase

Your volume limit on your ipod is probably set low. To check it, go all of the way to the ipod's main menu and go to settings. Then go to volume limit and put it where you would like it to be if it is too low. Then go back to your music and play it. Turn the volume up to your liking and it should work and play louder.

No sound when trying to play music

Go to the main window and go to the IPOD Touch Settings Button, then go to the music selection, there are some volume settings that only apply to music, make sure that volume is turned up all the way.

Mp3 output volume

The problem with iPod is that you just can't play music without iTunes. If you happen to delete the iTunes related folder on the iPod you will notice that you won't be able to play any of the files that are still there. (iTunes is the software that makes the iPod work).

On the other hand, you can surely drag and drop songs between your laptop and iPod (like Windows Explorer) ...and use the iPod like a portable Hard disk, but you won't be able to play any Music. So as it is, using iTunes is a must.

For varying sound volumes, you can use a technique called as "normalizing". There are a lot of tools available on the internet (free or otherwise) that let you normalize mp3s.
Search google for "normalize mp3".
