after, looking and playing around.I got some promising results.Little bite of trial and air.

Tried vizios color wheel and it work fine except color partern was off and rca are very close. So now its just a matter of time to find. I have found that the wheel not all but most are same design set up.so their is hope yet for this sharp.also Magnetic pick upcan be adjusted to dail in the color spectrum on the wheels, kink of like timmeing a car.its a slow proscess but I am getting some good results.

I guess I will toss my hat in here. I have a 'wheel hummer'. I got brave and opened the thing up. Amazing to see such a small thing vibrate so much. Maybe Sharp should go into the s e x toy business..... because I feel screw out of a tv.

If this isn't bad enough my DLP BenQ video projector has a problem too. I think I don't like DLP any more...... I was a huge fan.

Of course anyone find a fix.... share with the rest of the class.

    Thanks

I have same color wheel bearing noise problem on 56DR650. I agree Sharp are uncooperative.

I can replace if someone can give a location to get replacement.

Would prefer not to mess with just switching bearing, but will try if that is only option

Sharp LC65D64U no picture or sound after lightning surge. Technician from Sears says it needs new main board but parts are no longer available from factory. Are there any calibration required to change main board? Can I just swap board and go? Looking to buy P/N DUNTKE558FM01S

Hello. Please let me know if you were able to get another color wheel to work with this set. Were you able to dial in the color with any of them? I would love to get this set working again...without the humm. Thanks, Chip

I need just a color wheel replacement for a Sharp 56DR650 part# P/N oc-cw7bb-bc017. How much are they

A new color wheel can run anywhere from $250 to $350. You can get your current bulb and color wheel repaired for around $300. If you want it repaired, you can check this link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150548925666#vi-content

but I would definitely recommend buying a used one to replace your current one instead.

Sharp 56dr650 Dlp colorwheel for Mike miaer

I have a Sharp 56dr650. The color wheel bearing failed. Sharp cares not for its customers and won't even respond to my pleads for help in obtaining the replacement. So, with that said, I went to ebay and bought a vizio color wheel (Omega TV in Hollywood, FL). Color wheel is incorrect and colors are all blue as is, so I pulled the color wheel off and did the same from the old one-BIG note, the wheels are glass and fragile, DO NOT BREAK the old color wheel! I viced the old bearing and carefully worked the shaft out of the bearing (it is snapped into the bearing). The vice distorted the old bearing but it was trash anyway. The new bearing, I broke the new color wheel off and viced the shaft. I then pulled the old bearing from the wheel. I then carefully push the old shaft and color wheel into the new bearing (you will know when it snaps in place) asserting preasure ONLY on the metal center hub with my thumb. I had to file a new slot on the cast housing as the ribbon connector is about 1/2 inch shorter on the new bearing. I installed and it all works great!!! Saved from tossing a $2,000 plus tv out! SHAME ON SHARP! Never buy another Sharp product!

Sharp 56DR650 56 in

I searched for over a month for this custmer and had no luck at all finaly the ony option was to get the light engine from Sharps board exchange for $600.00 that is beter than the 1300.00 that Andrews wanted for it. Then found that RCA used the same wheel in one of there DLP's and sure enough this part number had been discontinued and the entire set has crush and exchange order on it as well.

These set have a problem with the color wheel, when it starts to fail it will do what you describe. The bad news is Sharp will not sell just the colorwheel, the sell the entire light engine for $1200.00 ond as of today I still have not found a replacment colorwheel that will work for this set
