Question about Palm Tungsten E Handheld

1 Answer

Got a new computer with windows 7. Downloaded latest software for palm. It won't sync with my tungsten e handheld using a usb cable. I have all the latest information in the desktop software on another computer running windows xp, which I was syncing with a usb cable, and old information in the hand held. I need to get the information now on the old computer, into the handheld, and then hot sync with the new computer so the most current info is on the new computer. Ideas?

Synchronization

Ensure that when you reinstall the drivers you start reinstalling with phone USB not connected to computer. That is a cause for error 1316.

Try also a replacement usb cable if you have on sometimes a bad cable can give you the error.

I have a Palm Tungsten E2. I just got a new computer and downloaded the hotsync software from Palm in hopes to back up my Tungsten E2 by syncing it to the new computer. It is now asking me for a password...

Try using 0000 - that is four zeros - or 1234.
Those are the usual default passwords given by that manufacturer. When all else fails, contact the manufacturer! If you haven't already tried simply pressing the Enter Key with no password in the dialog box first.
Good Luck!

I haven't used my palm in a while

If you don't remember the Palm password, you'll have to do a hard reset, which will erase all of the data.

Then, please download the latest Palm Desktop version from Palm.com and install it on your system.

After both of these steps, you should be able to sync.
