My Kenmore elite washer would get the UL error on almost every load no matter the size. The machine sounded like it was self destructing. I replaced the suspension rods and that was the fix for me. It will still get a bonafide UL error but now it works like when it was new. In my case the suspension rod spring in the upper left position was rusted badly and had lost a lot of it's tension.
