Summing the info up, you will most likely need to pay someone a small fee to unlock it for you. I would suggest ebay if you decide to go this route.
KEEP IN MIND, however, that data will only work on T-mobile (the danger APN's are set up that way). You will only be able to use voice and text on cingular. This is worse than you think, as the sidekick stores all of it's information remotely. Therefore, with an unlocked sidekick, anytime the phone is turned off it will loose all of it's information, such as its address book.
I highly suggest you return the phone unless your wife would like to switch carriers. Does your wife like chocolate? :)
Good luck and Happy St.Valentine's Day!
Ok...do u have T-Mobile???if so if you ahve had the account for 3
MONTHS you tell them that you are going to Europe for 2 weeks and you
need the unlock code so u can use it over there..they will give it to
you for FREE so u dont have to pay for it...btw the Sidekick 3 is for
T-Mobile and they lock their data side...so you might not beable to use
the internet on it if u put it on cingular

sell the phone on e-bay and purchase a cingular phone. only t-mobile and cingular can be unlocked. alltell phone work on a differnet frequency and cannot be compatible with these carriers like yours. sorry.
You have to call tmobile and get the code. If you dont actually have tmobile, then if you know someone who does, have them call and say that they just bought a new phone and want to try it out and they will give them the unlock code.
Hi, Call T-mobile customer service and ask them that you want to place a phone unlock order (use these terms, so that you know that you know what you are talking about), and it depends on the person you are talking to you. they might not ask you alot of question, just your IMEI/ serial no and an e-mail they will forward the unlock information to, it takes some while for them to send you the information.
You can switch your service to 'Cingular' if you want to by popping in a new cingular SIM card, but can't use Verizon and Sprint service's(operate with CDMA). Hope this Helped!
Hi is the phone asking for the security code when you switch it on if so then i can get you the master code for your phone but this oce wont work if you have entered the code wrong more than 5 times if you have then youll need flash lead and unlocking software witch would cost more than the phone. But if you want the master code then give me the phones imei number its located on back of the phone under the battery its about 15 numbers long and looks like 123456/1345/21456 once i have this i can generate your code ok
Like you being with T-mobile, I bought a cingular phone off ebay that wasn't unlock. My sims didn't work either. My network just said call Cingular which is now AT&T and they gave me the MEP code to unlock it. Beware, you need to confirm all of your information from your network before they will help you.
