press the select button ( the button that you choose the temperature on the fridge and freezer) and check that the fan on both fridge and freezer are working.

using a hairdryer is ok. don't let water drip on it and don't point too close to plastics
ice build up on fridge wall can be due to:
short of gas
partial blockage in sealed system
compressor starting to fail
stat switchback temp wrong
insulation failure
