It could be that you have put the projector into emergency mode. If this is the case you can only switch it on by moving the small switch by the leg tilt underneath, and then maually open the lamp cover by turning the adjuster with a coin, see page 48 of the manual for instructions. Hopw this helps

Well my sony vpl-cs6 projector comes on then powers off and the lamp cover light starts to blink what is the problem and how can i fix it

Tighten the screws of the lamp housing cover or may be a loose contact. Your lamp life may be over. Generally it is 2000 hrs.

I have Sony VPL CS6 projector and the lens cover stays open and wont shut to cover the lens!! The Lens/Cover light on it flashes? It does project for about 15seconds or so but then goes off, this is when...

It is possible that there can be few reasons for the fault siad:
1.the lamp can be faulty
2. the filter can be clogged.
3. the lens cap trigger switch can be faulty and staying on
4.The power supply can be faulty, not delivering the power but shuts off.
5,the main processor board can be faulty witth errors.
It might need board swapping to confirm.

My Sony Data Projector VPL CS6 is stuck in emergency mode, can it be reversed.

I tried the emergency mode and recovered the powered mode. just make sure you can turn the adjuster ( that big grey plastic screw) freely and leave it that way (don't tighten it or put the **** back in). try turning it on. works for me..

When you plug in power it indicates red but does not start the projection. The only thing i get is an orange brink from the point written lamp cover

make sure the lamp door is closed securely. if the door doesn't/ can't trigget the door switch, you'll need to replace the door, or the switch.

My projector sony vpl cs6 projects yellow

reset the settings to factory default and change your cable. if that doesn't help, the polarizer filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. the optical engine will need to be replaced.

SONY VPL-CS3

Hi there

Replacing the lamp won't make any difference at all.

If you have checked the fuse on the Powersupply Board and it tested ok , then the whole Board will need replacement.

Sony VPL CS6 in darkness !

Make sure the interlock switch is activated by the cover of the lamp.
Can't measure a voltage with the lamp cover open. High voltage is powering the lamp from an smps or ballast supply. If lamp is New, cover switch is good, then the lamp power supply could be faulty.
