My map is outdated, how can I get an uptodate map

Go to the website for your GPS provider. There should be the latest update for every model of the GSP you own. Download the update to your computer. Your GPS should have come with a cable to connect it to your computer (through a USB connection). Connect your GPS to the computer and open the update file. It should automatically begin transferring the information over to your GPS for update. If this does not work, I suggest contacting the GPS provider, as they may have a very specific update process that requires driving to one of their stores. If you need anything else, let me know!

How do i update my gps

In order to update your GPS you will need to connect it to a computer via a USB cord. You will then download and install updates from Nextar. You can find software updates at the following site,

To update the GPS you must go to the Nextar factory support site at this link http://www.nextar.com/frontend/gps_navigation_systems.asp then select your particular model from the drop down list. In the next page you will find information your GPS, if you don't see what you need call the customer support center for Nextar using the information available at this link:

Losess reception frequently for long periods of time. It was given to us as a Christmas present and is still under warrenty.

It is absolutely necessary to frequently update the quick GPS fix information for better functioning of the GPS. To update Quick GPS fix you need to connect the GPS to the computer. Once GPS is connected it will ask you whether you would like to install the TomTom home software. say yes to that suggestion and follow the tips on the screen. Once the installation is completed, your gps will be automatically updated wait till this process is complete. This should solve your reception problems. For more information click on the link below:

Tomtom is frozen waiting for valid gps signal

you will need to update the device using TOMTOM Home and download the Quick GPS Fix update to ensure that the lastest information is downloaded

go on the website of that type of gps and download it. you will probably have to pay a little bit of money to get it updated and you also have to have a usb cable to connect your gps to the computer.
