What is Monitor Out on 42'' Hitachi plasma TV (42HDT50)
Hello, I have a 42'' Hitachi plasma TV (42HDT50). It comes with a separate AV Control Center to hook up cable (with HD), DVD, VHS player and sound system. In addition to the several input channels, there is a channel labeled ''Monitor Out'' that has outputs for S-Video, Video (yellow), and Audio (white and red).
I can't figure out how to use this channel.
I tried hooking up to the input of my iBook G4 using EyeTV box/software, and got no signal. I tried running through the inputs on my VHS player (which I use for my camcorder out) and same results.
The documentation states, ''These jacks provide fixed audio and video signals (ANT A/B, Input 2-5) which are used for recording. Use the S-VIDEO Output for high quality video output. Component signal to Input 1 and 2, RGB and DVI-HDTV inputs will not have monitor output.''
This last statement really confuses me. What is Monitor Out for??? What do I need to connect to get it to work?? Please help. Thank you, Ron.

Open up the tv then go to where the on switch is on the bottom of the tv. After that make sure you have the metal back off and look on the circuit board near the power plug socket there should be a fuse cylindrical one. Just have to replace it same thing happened to my 42hdt50 guy i am friends with told me i needed a new one. So, thats what it might be if not then I do not know.
You'll probably need to contact Hitachi at one of the numbers in the manual or through their website about getting one of these control centers. You could also try eBay and search online for possible sources. But the set isn't very useful without the box.
