Acer N35 PDA/GPS

My PDA keeps freezing and the only way to reactivate is to do a hard reset.
Any advise would be most welcome

    Unfortunately it has not worked. As I am a resident of the UK, the phone numbers are not practical. The Uk Company are not helpfull as the model is discontinued

    The only files on it are the default files, which I believe are corrupted. I can load software, but it will randomly freeze after that or even without loading any programmes

    Thanks, but the files will not load. It looks as if I will have to have it repaired.

Hi here are the links to n35 rom, but I am afraid they deleted uk versions, have a look

and here are general instructions:

first go to ftp downlad site (originally ftp://ftp.acer-ee.com [if you're from Europe] or ftp://ftp.acer.com from USA.)

then use an SD card at list 64MBs


!!! FORMAT THE CARD VIA PC AS FAT !!! NOT FAT32 [which is default] !!!!!

Then follow the simple instructions
1. copy all OS Image files to SD card [now formated as FAT system]
2. hard restart Acer n35 device [move knob to the left]
3. Instert the SD Card
4. Hold the power button, and move the hard reset knob to the left
5. aproximatly count 4 sec. and release the power button
6. the screen will say SD DOWNLOAD [not DOWNLOAD IMG] and then after ~10 sec. the Orange bar will appear
7. The device will reboot automatically after it has completed flashing .

Hi,

I have looked for a manual for your PDA but could not find any what you can try is holding the power button/home then:

  1. Do not leave the buttons, keep it pressed for another 10 seconds or so.
  2. It will automatically switch off.
  3. Once that happens, wait for 3-4mins and then restart your PDA.
If this does not help then here are the contact details of the company just ask them they will tell you the right procedure.

Maybe you have to many files on it. have you tried to erase some datas and some applications? if so, then resesting it may be applied by using a usb cable and a software for reseting it, and a pc is required.

but I recommend to you to let a person who can do this, reseting your pda may cause a fatal damage to your unit if not properly reseted.

    (sigh) I sorry though..) ;

    uninstall them though maybe they are the bad ones and try to connect your pda to your pc then scan for any viruses.

Connect an external monitor to your laptop and see what it displays. The white screen is your backlight, you just do not receive any data. This could be because of a bad video card or a bad LVDS cable. Try the external monitor and let us know.

Need driver for vista to sync my acer n35
Acer N35 is running on Windows Mobile 2003. You can use Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for windows Vista to sync your PDA to your computer. You can Download Windows mobile device center 6.1 on this link :

After installing, plug in the Acer N35 PDA and Windows Mobile Center will; automatically start and you can transfer files and sync contacts etc.

Clock loses time
All memory on the n35 is powered by the n35 - if it goes completely dead, I usually leave it for a few weeks for the battery to completely flatten then check hard reset switch is off and recharge.
