You need the phone lock code to activate or deactivate the auto-lock feature. The default phone lock code is 12345. To deactivate it, go to Menu>Settings>General>Security>Phone and SIM>Keypad autolock period>None. Enter the phone lock code then press Ok. To activate it, select User defined under the Keypad autolock period menu then enter the length of time, in minutes, you want before the phone locks up.

This worked for me...
Menu - Settings - Themes - Standby - Basic...then hit 'horizontal icon bar' within the same menu (this just puts the selections for email/calender back on your home profile screen)
After searching for a few hours this is the only way i could get my phone to get back from Landscape to portrait view...!!!!
