Toshiba A15-S157. I cannot adjust power settings in Toshiba console. Icon is there but it will not respond. My goal is to disable all timeouts when computer is operating on A-C power. Cannot find recovery disk if I ever had it.

    Hi,
Regarding my power saving adjustments that on my toshiba A15-s157 that you replied to, it is a no go. If I do as you suggested and use the control panel power options adjustment, it tells me to close control panel, go to Toshiba Power Saver. That does not work. The Icon is there, but it won't respond.
Thanks for your efforts so far but do you have any more ideas? It is making me so mad I am close to doing a wipe and starting over.
    Regards, Jerry

To change your computer power saving plan, automatic shutdown, or to check power settings, go to, (Control Panel), click on Change Power Settings. From here, choose when the Computer Sleep, when not in use, how long the display stay on, and when the computer should shutdown etc. I hope this Fix it, paul7of9

Sorry that didn't help so good. Try this to get to the power source, at the Start Menu (search), Type: "power". the "Power Options" should appear in the window. try Fixing the Power from the categories listed. "As a "Last" effort, perform ("System Restore"). Thanks again."

The built-in 'g' nic card on the a15-s157 does not support wpa2 encryption..... i have a pcmcia network card that does but i cannot get the a15-157 to go to/use that card. i have diabaled the device and...

hello, Did you try going in BIOS and disbale the onboard card there and then try it? also install the utility that came with pcmcia card to manage that card.
though you should not have to even disable the onboard card for the other one to work.
just as a note if a card utility is installed by default that utility is managing that card and doesn't let windows manage it or even see in windows wireless section.

let me know if that helps.

good luck

Toshiba satellite a15-s157 wifi problem

Your card has the correct drivers installed, but that's not enough Windows XP has native support for WiFi. Just visit
www.toshiba.com and go to Products & Services, select Portables and then on
the left hand side click Support, then choose Tech Support Center, choose
your model of laptop in the list boxes and voila, a list of all Toshiba
drivers, choose the WiFi software and install.

Repair Disk

I believe you are referring to the recovery disk. This is available from the manufacturer. Please check if you have the Recovery Disk Creator program in your laptop. If you do, that means you can make your own recovery disk. If not, please contact manufacturer. Hope this helps. Thank you.
