Question about IBM Lexmark X83 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I installed new color and black ink cartridges and keep getting: color cartridge short. Press power key. Hence, the printer will not work.

It could be a "short-circuit" type of electronic problem inside the colour cartridge.
Turn the printer off.
Remove the colour cartridge.
Purchase a new colour cartridge.
Insert it.
Turn the printer on.
If you still get the error, take the printer to a qualified technician.

My X83 will not print color, even with new color cartridge. I have cleaned the new cartridge to be sure ink flows (it does) and cleaned the cartridge holder. Not even a hint of color shows as if it were set on black only, even for the test page. Printer settings on computer have no effect. Any suggestions?
