With engine off power stering pump located on engine. remove cap. cap will have a dip stick attached add "GM" power stering fluid a little at a time. wipe dip stick clean reinsert and remove check by using the high oil line the the marking on the dip stick. do not over fill

I think the question is how do you see where your pouring the fluid on the 3.8 cause it is way under the altinator on the back side of the engine area......you can only get at it by reaching and feeling around for it but you can't actually see to fill it up.

SOURCE: 2005 chevy impala power steering leak problem

What you hae to do is check if the reservoir is leaking first if okthen it is either the piping or the steering pump. It is a process of elimination, you may need to clean the area first to discover where the leak is or work back from the point it is leaking on the belt. Until you identify where the leak is coming from it will be dificult to repair unless you just start to replace the pump and reservoir any way.
