Yes, I have the same problem. Called Sharp they said it's the fuser unit. Purchased a New Fuser Unit, replaced it and still have the H4 flashing code. Do you still need to do the reset even if you replace the whole fuser unit? Thanks for your help.

My AR M205 is also showing h4 intermittently. I have treid pushing the button C and CA but don't have an auto button apart from 'Auto image'. I have tried pressing it but to no avail. I would like to know what order of buttons I press to reset this because it was working fine until a pwer cut the other day. Any help really appreciated. George.

Fuser is not heating up. Normally a broken bulb.

Unless you can get hold of spares, call the engineer.

SOURCE: have a Sharp AL-1631 copier.

Push the 'clear' button and then the 'auto' button then the 'clear' button and then the 'auto' button again. This should be done as quickly as you can and the console will go blank.Next, select 14,which is the low temp clearing code, and then push 'start' and then turn the machine off and back on again.

If the error still occurs call Sharp or qualified technician to resolve your fuser issue

AL-1631 is flashing "H". How do I fix this which appears to be heat related.

the h means that your fuser needs to be replaced. it might be fixable by changing the thermal fuse but most of the time the whole fuser needs to be replaced

I have a Sharp Printer 2007 AL-1631 with a red flashing light. Can you tell me how to fix it?

Which light is flashing? One that looks like a small battery or the one that looks like a stack of 6 "dots"?

Our Sparp AL-1631 is flashing 4 then H what does it need?

To reset the H4 condition on your Sharp AL 1631 copier press the following key's in sequence and as quickly as possible (with 4 seconds for the first 4 keys)
Press "C" then the far left key (exposure mode) then the "C" key then the far left again.
So in other words C, far left, C, far left
If done correctly the display should go blank.
Now key in 14 as if you were going to make 14 copies.
Now press the print button.
The machine should reset and the code should be gone.
9 times out of 10 this is a false code that pops up due to power surges or noise.
If the code comes back this means you have a heater lamp or thermal fuse (more common) failure in the fusing area and will need service.

My sharp al-1631 will not run when plugged in. the light comes on by the window where the number of copies just flashes H and then 4. is this an easy fix

It looks like you have a bad component in the fuser. It could be a bad thermofuse or thermistor. At this point it would be best to take it in to be serviced by a Sharp dealer as they should be able to repair it fairly quickly.

Sharp AL 1631 is flashing 1 L. What does that

Hi:

This might refer to your scanner assy being locked. The scanner assy is the unit under the glass that scans your document prior to copying it. Look inside the cavity where you pick up your completed copies. Look at the upper left corner and see if there is a knob there. If there is, make sure it is in the completely unlocked position.
