The keypad volume is stuck on earpiece & I can't hear without earjack how can I clear cell?

Called Verizon. Removed battery while phone is still on. They also had me update the phone via *228, option 2 but I don't think that helped.

Check to see if you have it on mute. Go into your menu options and under sound hit ok It should show master volume, keypad, earpiece,speaker try master volume then volume up .

There is a problem with your battery. This line of phones has the defect and your cell phone provider can't even fix it. I would suggest you buy a new phone.

On most phones, the copper contacts down inside the jack work kind of like switches to detect if you have anything plugged in. Other stuff getting in there can depress the contacts, making the phone think something is plugged in.

Get a bright light (flashlight or the like) and shine it down in there. Check for anything unexpected in there, like pocket lint. If there's anything in there, fish it out with some small piece of wire (a paperclip, needle, or the like).

Hi,

If the volume of your phone is at the maximum, and yet you cannot you hear while you are been called or when you call, the problem with your phone is the earpiece, since you have adjusted and try increase the volume, yet, same problem. The earpiece on your phone is bad that is why you cannot hear the party calling you or hear anything while you call.

All you need to do is to replace the earpiece on your phone and you will see that you can hear whoever you are talking to on your phone.

Replace the earpiece on your phone and you will see that the problem is solved. meanwhile, you can keep using the headset pending the time you will replace the earpiece.

go to tools and setting --> sound settings --> keypad volume...see if you see "KEYPAD VOL-EARJACK"...that means that your phone is stuck in EARJACK mode....get a wired ear piece, plug it in, make a call, and then unplug after you end the call....that should resolve your problem...

No sound--master volume says ear jack

i put it in the freezer, hit it, drove a nail into the earjack port. then i poured water into the earjack port, held a lighter to it, and blew into it, none of that worked, so i jammed a paper clip into the earport and that fixed it. i also slammed in on the ground a few times.

It can be that the earpiece is broken. Try calling someone without using any earpiece, if that works that proves the earpiece is damaged or broken.

If that doesn't work, then the speaker in your phone must be damaged.

When the call has gone through, try changing the volume. If it says "Earpiece-Earjack Mode", the phone 'thinks' something is plugged into the data/charging port. Try using a clean toothbrush with a very small amount of alcohol on it (90% isopropyl is best) and brushing the port vigorously. If using 70% alcohol, use dust off or someother cnned air to dry he port out. If you are still having he issue, damaged is inside the phone and probably can't be fixed.

Volume is non-existant on LG VX 4400

When you press vol up & down it will indicate "ringer ear jack." This means the phone is stuck in ear jack mode expecting a wired head phone accessory. Remove the battery then unscrew and pull out the antenna and the black plastic sleeve. Then remove the for small torx screws and carefully remove the back. Take a tooth pick to the back of the ear jack an bend the retainer pin back. Put everything back in reverse order and it should work fine.
