Hey i had my dell inspiron 1525 for quite a while and now the charger stopped working for some reason. i need help

dear pls. reples the power adapter and tek the brand new dell adapter soon

please remove the battery, plug-in the charger and turn ON the laptop, if it doesn't work,
then the internal part that connects the laptop to the charger have problem and need to be fixed through a technician.

i have inspiron 1525 as well ... if the computer wont boot up, then the mainboard may have experienced a power surge of excess current. did you have t-storm or power out while your computer was plugged in with Ac adapter ?

if not , to answer your question, the capacitors you inquire about are so small, it would require special solder machine to replace these CAPACITORs, as they are very tiny in size and require absolute temperature (heat) from solder gun to pally appropriate solder to replace the capacitor(s).

Take out battery & place it again.
If does not charge again, contact sevice centre.

Dell systems will not charge the battery without a Dell Branded AC adapter connected to the system (The BIOS looks for the adapter ID and disables the battery charger if not ID'd)
It appears, that since the system will not power on with either AC adapter, that there is a problem with the power connection of the system. You can replace the power board

Always be sure to close any open programs you do not need to run at that particular time. Also, close your internet connection. The reason for this is to allow the maximum amount of memory to be used by your media software.. Try this. It should work, ok? GOOD LUCK!! Lucky4lynn2

It is possible the battery itself has wore out. They have a limited amount of time they can be recharged. Does the unit run while the charger is plugged in??

i had the same problem... there can be a few reasons why... the adapter i had was at first able to charge the battery... for some reason it stopped charging the battery but was still able to keep the power on... i had a friend who also had a dell laptop and for some reason his adapter was able to charge my battery so it wasnt the battery... i called dell and they sent me another adapter and that was able to charge it...

On the long term, a power adapter with a bigger amperage can damage battery and battery charger.

Better to get an adapter with same specs as the 65/70W one , or an original replacemant:

the only possible reason that i can think of is that ur AC adapter is not the correct adapter for ur computer, if its not the correct charger contact dell.com and u can get the original charger for you laptop for under 60 dollars.
