I cannot hear phone ring on avaya awh75n headset hooked up to avaya 2410 phone, even with ring detector connected.

A hard reset will clear a consumer set pass code, unless it is stolen, reported stolen or the code to open has been entered wrongly 4 times. Then it becomes PUK/SIM locked. EXCEPT, now I looked it up, this is a home phone!

The ring from the telephone is picked up by the internal microphone on the HL10 Handset Lifter, typically for most phones, the lifter sits directly over the speaker grill on the telephone where the sound comes out. For telephones that curve out on the left side and don't have a straight edge, there is an accessory called a "Ring Detector" which is used. Here's a link:

If the internal mic on the lifter has gone out, you can plug the ring detector into the handset lifter and just stick the ring detector over the speaker grill to pick up the ring. Plugging this into the lifter will bypass the internal mic, this accessory would have come with your HL10 lifter. You can also check the ring volume on the telephone, and you can also try adjusting the ring tone on the phone (sometimes it will pick up one ring tone better than another). Everything I have read on the voice mail problem refers to resetting that feature on the phone (the headset is just an innocent bystander). If you don't have the manual, you can contact Avaya for assistance.

There should be a small wire with a 90 degree plug on one end and the other will have a small ropund piece. The plug plugs into the headset base. The round piece has sticky tape on it and plugs on the speaker beneath the handset.

Only if you have an HL-10 lifter installed... you will then be able to hear three short beeps in your ear to indicate the phone is ringing.
