My cable box has a DVI output and my TV has a DVI input. Neither has HDMI. If I connect my cable box to a HDMI connector on the receiver using a DVI to HDMI cable and then reverse that on the HDMI output to the DVI connector on the TV, how do I manage the analog audio output from the cable box?

DVI does not support audio. You must use seperate audio connection aside from the dvi connectors.

How do I connect my PS3 to my sanyo dp50747 in hdmi? I have everything hooked up correctly, but its not coming up on the TV. What do I do?????

If you see a no signal message, then it means that the signal output format of the PS3 does not match . It happens if you have previous used it on another tv and now connected it to a different tv. To resolve this, turn off the PS3 . Press and hold the power button on the PS3 till you hear three BEEPS. The PS3 should automatically detect the tv's resolution and the initial setup screen should appear. After that you should just follow on-screen instructions to set it up.

How to use rca entertainment series 32 inch as pc monitor

Assuming that your RCA 32 inch tv has an HDMI or VGA input, all you need is the proper cable to connect the two units. If your computer has a VGA out (blue female connector) and so does your TV, you would need a male to male VGA cable. If your computer has a DVI out (white connector), you would need to purchase a DVI to HDMI cable. The combinations can me played around with depending on what connectors are on the back of the TV and what you have as an output for your PC.

Hdmi will not work only use of component cables will.

Hello

The HDMI[1] input on your TV receives digital audio

and uncompressed digital video and audio from an

HDMI device or uncompressed digital video from a

DVI[2] device.

This input is designed to accept HDCP[3] program

material in digital form from EIA/CEA-861/861B-

compliant[4] consumer electronic devices (such as a settop

box or DVD player with HDMI or DVI output).

The HDMI input is designed for best performance

with 1080i high-definition video signals, but will also
accept and display 480i, 480p, and 720p signals.

To connect an HDMI device, you will need:

• one HDMI cable (type A connector)

For proper operation, it is recommended that you use

a short HDMI cable. You should not encounter

difficulty if you use an HDMI cable shorter than 16.4

ft (5m).

HDMI cable transfers both video and audio.

Separate analog audio cables are not required (see

illustration below). Some CDVs (video CDs) may

not output digital audio signals. In that case, you

may hear sound by connecting analog audio cables.

However, if you connect analog audio cables with

this connection, the HDMI terminal on the TV will

not receive the HDMI digital audio signal and you
will hear analog audio only.

To ensure that the HDMI or DVI device is reset

properly, it is recommended that you follow

these procedures:

• When turning on your electronic components,

turn on the TV first, and then the HDMI or

DVI device.

• When turning off your electronic components,

turn off the HDMI or DVI device first, and
then the TV.

To connect a DVI device, you will need:

• one HDMI-to-DVI adapter cable

(HDMI type A connector)

For proper operation, the length of an HDMI-to-

DVI adapter cable should not exceed 9.8 ft (3m).

The recommended length is 6.6 ft (2m).
• one pair of standard analog audio cables

This may be an impossible problem to solve..we just got a Hitachi 51m200 rear projection tv. it does not have an hdmi slot although the tv says it is dvi-hdtv and our cable box is hdmi output. so if i get...

It isn't impossible at all. You may need a sound bar if you don't already have a Bose surround sound system or a boom box or something else you can use without purchasing anything. On the hdmi/dvi televisions and cable boxes of the recent past there would always be an accompanying white and red composite/RCA slot (output on the cable box, input on the television) to accommodate this. You would simply connect the hdmi to dvi cable from the television to the cable box and then the red and white audio cable. If your television and cable box does not have the red and white composite/RCA audio input and output you will need to connect the cable box to an external audio source. How to do it and what to connect it to depends on what audio output that is on the cable box (usually is on the back of it). You might need a fiber optic cable and a sound bar with a digital audio input if you have a newer cable box.

I would like to know if I can connect a HDMI cable from My tv model WS-65315 to a Direct TV HD receiver?

NO> If your TV supports and have HDMI connections and your HD receiver has an HDMI output then you should have no problem displaying Video. Just make sure you change the input signal of your television to HDMI input. After looking at the spec's of this model these are the following inputs you have. your best picture quaity would be to use componet cables instead, which can show full screen 1080i format, your television does not show at 1080p whis is what HDMI is known for.
Connectors
Rear Input Connectors S-Video x 2 - Component x 3 - Composite x 2 - DVI x 1 - RF x 2 - 1 x RS-232C - Audio (RCA) x 6

Front Input Connectors S-Video x 1 - Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1

Rear Output Connectors Composite x 1 - Audio (RCA) x 1 - RF x 1

Another good option is use to use a DVI to HMDI connector and hook it up this way. But note: you will have to use audio cables for the DVI input.

Connection problem with HDMI cables on Denon AVR-589

Hello,
I want to clairify you install, you sat you have I an HDMI cable running from the Time Warner Cable box to the AVR-589, going in to the TV/CBL input. From the Denon AVR-589, I have an HDMI cable running from the output to my Toshiba RV525U television.

Check the connection at the TV, if as you indicated above you have an HDMI cable from the HDMI out from the Denon to an HDMI output on the TV, if this is the case you need to have that HDMI cable plugged into an input on the TV not an output

HELP WITH CNECTION

Only if you've got an HDMI output on your computer. Some computers with higher quality video cards, or just newer ones will have a DVI output for a monitor. You can get a DVI to HDMI cable that will then be able to connect the two.

As others have said, if you have a video card with DVI output, you can get the video to the TV using a DVI to HDMI cable.

But no one mentioned anything about audio. DVI can not carry audio, so you'll need to send audio from the computer to the TV (or receiver). Some TVs have audio inputs associated to one (or more) HDMI ports for use with devices that have DVI, but not HDMI. My Sharp LCD has two HDMI ports, one with separate audio inputs, one without.
