Maybe, if you can send us the brand and exactly model, we give you clear answers.

Innitialy, must try with this:

Powering On the Projector

NOTE:

Turn on the projector before you turn on the source.
1. Remove the lens cap.
2. Ensure that the power cord and appropriate signal cable(s) are securely connected. The power button light will blink green.
3. Press the power button to turn on the projector. The Dell logo will be displayed for 30 seconds.
4. Turn on your source (computer, notebook, DVD, etc.). The projector automatically detects your source.

If the "Searching for signal..." message appears on the screen, ensure that the appropriate signal cable(s) are securely connected.

If you are connecting multiple sources to the projector simultaneously, press the Source button on the remote control or control panel to select the desired source.

Powering Off the Projector
DO NOT UNPLUG THE PROJECTOR BEFORE PROPERLY SHUTTING DOWN USING THE FOLLOWING STEPS.

1. Press the power button to turn off the projector. The "Power Off the Lamp?" message appears on the OSD.
2. Press the power button again. The cooling fans continue to operate for 2 minutes.
3. If the LAMP light is solid orange, replace the lamp.
4. If the TEMP light is solid orange, the projector has overheated. The display automatically shuts down. Try turning the display on again after the projector cools down. If the problem persists, contact Dealer.
5. If the TEMP light is blinking orange, a projector fan has failed and the projector will automatically shut down. If this problem persists, contact Dealer.
6. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet and the projector.
7. If you press the power button while the projector is running, the "Power Off the Lamp?" message appears on the screen. To clear the message, press any button on the control panel or ignore the message; the message will disappear after 5 seconds.

Select the monitor 2, click on extend my desktop to this monitor.

InFocus Projector-Searching

most likely it is your cable. If a for sure brand new cable doesn't fix it it is most likely the main board. Also try flashing the software again.

When i connect projector to computer it just says searching and my presentation wont show up on screen

Hello.

Look at your computer's function (F) keys. See which one has either a screen symbol or the words "CRT/LCD". Typically, it's the F4 or F8 key.

Hold down the Fn key and press that F key and after the first, second or third try, the presentation on the computer should display on your projector's screen.

Hope this helps.

You might have not enabled your computers second display.

This is actually a very nice feature, because you could run your powerpoint slide on the monitor while still running your normal applications on the laptop screen.

Go into control panel, display properties and then click on the "second" monitor (you could click on "Identify" to see which is which) and then select the "expand my desktop onto this screen.

The LCD display will be just a normal background, but you can drag windows from your laptop screen onto the LCD and back.

Hope this helps

Projector Problem

you need to make sure your laptop has detected the new projector. this message usually pops up when a device is unrecognized. you plug in all your cords then go to the desktop on your computer. you will need to add this as a clone display or extended. this basically means a clone is exactly what you see on your laptop screen or extended meaning you move parts of your desktop screens over to view in the secondary display. if this is not setup or recognized you will not get a response from the projector.

Delay/ whitescreen when projecting video from laptop

1.
Connect the external display port on your laptop computer to the projection system, and then turn on the projector. For information about connecting external devices to your laptop, see the documentation for your laptop computer.
1.
Set the display resolution of your laptop computer to match the resolution of the projector system. First, on your laptop, open the Display Properties dialog box by using the Display icon in Control Panel, and click the Settings tab. Then, in Screen resolution area, move the slider to adjust the display resolution of your laptop. If you don't know which setting to choose, try 800 x 600 pixels; this is a common setting for many projector systems. YOURS sounds like 640x840.
3.
If you have audio in your presentation, connect a cable from your laptop's audio output jack to the audio input jack on the projector, and then test the volume by playing a file that contains sound.
4.
Start the Player on your laptop. If you want to only display the Player on the big screen, and not the desktop background, maximize the Player or set it to play your video using the entire screen (full-screen mode).
