Linda, could be bad capacitors or cracked/bad solder joint,bad main logic board.

It sounds that, the memory IC to your TV has damaged. This IC can be located very near to main system control IC. A very small one, with 8 solder terminals. Even though it is very small, function of it while the TV works is great. The work is a semi-skilled one, and you must have some knowledge in electronics to proceed.
I'm having the same problem. Can anyone help. If possible i'd like to fix it rather than go return it. It worked fine for a while and then suddenly started turning itself off. Now every time i turn it on it turns itself off.
