Parts to fix the rail to a crib .. recall????

if I remember correctly the recall affects all cribs that have a side drop. here is the recall link if your crib can slide down on the side than yes it's being recall.

Some of the known model numbers are: 10-110X, 10-210X, 21-110X, 20-710X, 64-315X, 26-110X, 90-257X, 20-810X, 46-715X, 64-311X, 74-315X, 21-815X, 21-810X, 20815X, 308154 and 54915. (The "X" denotes where an additional and varying number may appear at the end of the model number.) However, all Generation 2 Worldwide and "ChildESIGNS" drop side cribs are included in this recall, including those with other model numbers.
The name "Generation 2 Worldwide" appears on a label affixed to the crib's headboard or footboard. Some labels identify the place of manufacture as Dothan, Ala. Others identify China as the country of manufacture. The name "ChildESIGNS" appears on the teething rail of some of the cribs.
The recalled cribs were sold at numerous local furniture and retail stores including Buy Buy Baby, and Kmart and Walmart stores nationwide for between $60 and $160. Consumers should contact the store from which they purchased the crib for remedy information, which will vary between a refund, replacement crib or store credit, depending on the retailer. Consumers are urged to contact CPSC and report any difficulties in obtaining a remedy from their place of purchase.

You will need the name of the manufacturer of the crib to determine if the crib has been recalled or to order replacement parts.
I believe the rails you are looking for are for the drop side. Many drop side cribs have been recalled this year. You should go to www.cpsc.gov and look up the manufacturer and model number.

No. The cribs being recalled are made by StorkCraft but any crib with a drop side that has plastic parts could pose a problem. Make sure the side latches securely and that the space between the side and the mattress is not large enough for a child's head to get trapped.

Sounds like you have one of the cribs that was recalled for that very reason. They will send you the right parts for free to fix the 'drop side trigger lock' that was recalled, even if you didn't register the crib. This is their phone number: 1-800-816-5304,

if you're missing the lock parts from the ends of the side rails(end caps), I was to. I borrowed the cap from the youth bed rail
since when it's configured as a crib, that rail is extra anyway.
when it was time to go with the youth bed I simply put the end
caps back onto the other rail. GOOD LUCK!

Try you local hardware store. ACE Hardware or a True Value.

If you think that the parts are repairable you might ask the hardware folks for a glue that will bond that material to itself. Plastic Welder brand glue usually works well for this.

You know I just purchased a Childesigns crib from a garage sale thatI thought had everything needed. When I got home, we found it was missing one top plastic rod. Of course nothing will work without that. I found this webpage that sells a VERY similar product. http://www.productsamerica.com/page65.html. It is not exact, but to be able to use the crib, this was a good option for us. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem and I spoke to www.productsamerica.com at 1-800-772-1041 this morning and they said that the childesign is no longer in production as far as they know and no parts available. They also said no repair kits available will fit it. I am stomped as to whether I should just go out and buy another crib now.
