Yes they are right. There is NO way that it can be fixed OTHER than returning it to the manufacturers or agent. They have proprietory Software Challenge Codes and this will do the job. However they charge for this usually around $125. Also one must provide proof of purchace and ownership.

How do I update bios for mpc transport x1000

FIRST, WHY DO YOU WANT TO? Altering the BIOS is like taking a stroll in a minefield, one wrong step and........ That said, Is your computer running OK? Is there some issue you are trying to resolve? If you are asking for a "how to" , I assume you have never done it before. That's not a "pond you want to jump in", without checking how "deep the water is". I would advise you to rethink, and rethink the rethink. Have you looked on the laptop Makers website for a BIOS flash? Only use the laptop manufacturers website for BIOS updates/flash.

Bios/cmos password when screen boots up- i have no password

BIOS passwords can be reset or removed in two ways:

1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting or removing using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

!BIOS - is a PC BIOS toolkit offering password removal/decrypt and BIOS settings modification/backup/restore.
You can download it here:
http://www.syschat.com/download120.html&act=down

CmosPwd - Cmos password recovery tools
http://majorgeeks.com/CmosPwd_d239.html

You will need to create a bootable Dos, or Linux or NT cd in order to run them.

Good Luck!

I have a mpc transport x1000. The bios password comes up now at start up. I have tried a few ideas and things that people have told me but nothing works. Is there a specific unlock code or something that...

There is no specific unlock code that you can use to bypass this password but I would suggest that you first try and clear the password and then call the manufacture if that dose not work and they should be able to help you. I have attached a link to a tutorial on how to bypass this type of password.

I hope this helped.

Thank you,

A bios password that appears on the screen of my mpc laptop

I just purchased a used MPC x1000 and encountered the same problem. Here's what I did:

First, turn on PC and press F1 to enter CMOS.
Go to the Security tab. There you will see Supervisor and User Password fields. Change the Supervisor password, then the User fields can be changed. Then, save and exit.

If, when your o/s boots, the screen asks for password or touch fingerprint pad, go for the password option by pressing ctrl/alt/del.
If that won't let you in, there's a bypass tab that you can select. I clicked on that tab and went right into Windows no prob. Then, the TouchPad options menu appeared so I could set up security as I choose.

Good luck

The computer comes no with password

The new mpc support site is back online at http://www.mpcdrivers.com
Mpc notebooks have a bios password ability. Once that password is set, you cannot log into the pc without it. The only method is to have a repair shop replace the bios chip with a new one.
There is no password utility that will bypass this.
