I need to attached my hard drive of My toshiba laptop 2455-S305 to an external IDE enclosure so I can download the files from it to another computer. The one I bought, External IDE Enclosure High speed USB 2.0 does not accept the hard drive into the slots. The IDE says not compatible with SATA hard drives. Do I have a SATA hard drive so that is the reason it does not work?

Just be sure the Storage controller type (HD) is IDE not SATA.

It sounds like you need to get a new hard drive for your computer. Any IDE laptop hard drive should work fine but be aware that an IDE hard drive isn't that easy to find anymore. All new hard drives are SATA which is not what you would want. Any size should be fine.

If you are looking for the drivers of your Satellite Laptop you can go to this site. Toshiba.com, next you need to click on consumer Product links, next click on Laptop Computers, next click on support link at the bottom on the right, next click on download, then click on the option, Laptops>Satellite>2455-S305, then you will be given options to download the available drivers for your computer. After downloading the drivers, transfer it on a flash/thumb drive and then install it on your computer to install the internet drivers. Hope this will solve your concern.
Go to toshiba website. Click on support. Click on download. Choose a category, since this is a laptop. Select laptop and for the family. Select satellite. For the model, type on the model finding filter the 2455-S305 then click go. slect your all operating system and wi-fi. you will see there the available driver for your pc.
OK it seems as though you have an IDE - USB dongle. What you need is a SATA - USB dongle. It appears that the drive you have is SATA, you will know this as there is only a small connector for tha Data and Power Plug. The IDE is a wide multi pinned socket with a large 4 pin Power Connector.
