Possible this is a fault in the vertical section and ONLY if you are able to do a hardware work must you try to open and attemtp this work.
Possible that with a soldering work on the vertical IC the fault will be cleared. Or else the vertical section must be soldered.
Get help if you are not able to attempt this work.
I had the same happen to me.. it started with one white vertical line.. then got the whole rainbow (red, green, blue).. Solution: Try connecting an external monitor.. if there is no problems, then it's not the video card or chipset.. it's going to be the lcd.. you can get it on ebay for about $200.. hope this helps..

Sounds much like a bad LCD.... maybe you could upload a picture online and post the link here in order to illustrate better?
Can you "flex" the screen a little and notice a difference in lines or colors? Don't bend it to the point of breaking it, just a slight tweak in flexing. If you notice changes in the screen behavior, then I would say bad lcd.
Slight chance of a mainboard issue, very slight. But none the less, I would be on the phone trying to get a warranty replacement. Sometimes they will give in when it is only days out.
Hope this will give you hints. If you haven't noticed first day you bought and used it with this negligible glitches you mentioned. There are factors to test and consider; try adjusting resolution frequencies (lower to higher) select Apply settings if you noticed been good; color/scheme modes of your video card driver/application software. I have met this kind of problem by fine tuning the video card settings and even replacing the video card not common it monitor problem. However if you noticed and doubtful even, get a change to dropby to the store you bought it let them check the unit. If the output still considerable, you still can use and we'll wait and see if it getting worse before the warranty period.
I have 2 of these monitors and have this problem. I was so frustrated
turning the monitor off and on until the white line disappeared that
one day, I punched the screen. And it worked! So now whenever this
happens (about once every other day) I use my palm and smack the lower
left corner of the monitor until the white line disappears. I like the
color on these screens so I don't want to replace them until I have to.
I will NOT buy another Lacie though.
