Have a Wireless logitech mouse. Replaced battery. Green light comes on, but then goes off. What next?

From Logitech's website, "This is normal behavior of the mouse.
The green battery light of your ]logitech] mouse will come on for a few seconds to indicate the battery condition and then go out. This will occur when you power on your mouse and when you replace the batteries. The battery light goes out after a few seconds to conserve battery power."

For changing the batteries of logitech wireless.I guess a video tutorial will help you out rather than written instructions. Watch it to lean how to replace battery of the logitech cordless mouse ( Logitech MX 1000 Model). If you are having a different model please specify the details of your model.

How do i replace a battery in a wireless mouse?

Hi,

I do have a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard as well its model is EX100. If this is the first time you are replacing the batteries then here are the steps:
  1. Slide the top cover of the mouse downwards.
  2. You need to press it down slightly to unlock the cover.
  3. Replace the batteries
  4. Put the cover back in
  5. If the mouse does not respond after replacing the old batteries press the Connect button underneath it
Here is the link for the detailed manual for Logitech's EX100 mouse and keyboard.

However if you have a different model, click the link below and select the model you have and click on "Changing the battery on my (Logitech mouse model)"
http://www.logitech.com/en-roeu/support-downloads/downloads/mice
If this doesn't help you, I will continually check on this and if you can provide the model of your mouse, the better. Thank you for choosing FixYa! Enjoy!

REPLACE BATTERY

Just behind the wheel there are three raised lines in the plastic, just press down on this spot and slide the top back away from the wheel and replace the two AA batteries within. Life should be this easy.

Laser Mouse MX 1000 By logitech

The following is what I ended up doingbf9ae52.jpg

Pretty much I cannibalized a pack of battery charging adapter plates, soldered the three wires to them, trimmed & bent them a little.. and then epoxied them down to the battery hold-down in their appropriate places. A little trimming was done on the plastic so the contacts could reach in far enough without obstruction.

After having the mouse sit around useless without a working battery in it.. for months, which definitely irritated me... I looked up 3.7V li-ion batteries and came across the "klic-5001 battery" (google it) and ordered two. The first one I destroyed trying to solder the wires directly to the battery contacts.. which just ruined all the internal li-ion battery components(i.e. DO NOT TRY DOING THAT)... the second battery, which I never tampered with whatsoever, is connected to the mouse via the contacts I described above. The klic-5001 batteries by the way do fit very well in the hold-down meant for the original battery.

End result: one, exceptionally well working MX1000 mouse which I can replace the rechargeable battery inside anytime it begins to get to aged and not working so well... ^_^ It charges as normal and the battery monitoring works like nothing ever changed.

Where's the batteries?

Hello,
I had a similar problem with my battery going dead in my Logitech mouse. There was a "aa" battery located under the rear top cover. it's the part that has the Logitech logo on it. You simply press the button underneath the mouse @ the back that has a LOCK symbol on it & lift off the cover. Put in a new battery & you should be good to go.
