Hi,

I purchased a canon elura 100. The 100 has a AV -> DV converter. This allow you to tunnel your Sony via a 3.5mm 4-pole mini AV to mini AV camcorder A/V cable to your computer.

Sony (via AV out) -> (AV) Canon -> PC/Mac (DV) via fire wire cable

Trying to find a cable for my sony hI8 model number ccd-trv68 to go from my camcorder to my computer?

This is an analog camcorder - not digital. Therefore, the only cables you can use are the RCA types for audio and composite video. The computer must have an adapter board or allow RCA inputs (analog).

I have an older camcorder that hasn't been used in a while. When I went to try to view the tapes made on the camera, I just get a blue screen with a white play arrow. The tape is moving inside though. It...

The video drum inside the tape mechanism consists of two sets of heads. One set for recording and one for playback. It's possible the playback heads are damaged, in which case the video drum will need to be replaced. It's also possible the video drum may simply be oxidized in and the camera only needs servicing and the drum deoxidized. I don't reccomend using "cleanning tapes" as they can sometimes do more harm thab good although you try. You might get lucky and this will solve your problem.

What do i need to purchase to connect my sony handycam cdd-trv68

You need to download your movies with a Firewire cable, you must make sure your PC or Laptop has this socket, the marking near this socket on your computer has a 3 bladed windmill picture.
Your cable will set you back about £10 at most good camera shops.

I hope this helps...

yes....BUT....You'll need your computer to convert first. Although this is the US version camorder that you purchased, the software that comes with the camcorder allows you to convert you recording from NTSC to PAL when your ready to produce your movie. You can do this by opening up Power Produce or Power Director(software that comes with you camcorder) on you computer transfering you movie(s), editing if you would like though you dont have to, then select produce movie. The options offer you what choices on what to create; file, dvd, youtube video, and so on. You'll also see an option to produce in NTSC (default) or PAL. This is the only way that your recordings can become compadable with and be shown IN color on you PAL devices. If this isnt done and you go srait to your PAL recorder with this camcorder, our movies will be shown in black and white and or a bit distorted with no sound.
