I just built a computer with the Winfast/Foxconn 6150BK8MC, and when I restart windows, or shut down windows XP, upon trying to boot it up again, the POST hangs on the part where it recognizes either the Processor, or the next step the RAM. The only way I am able to work around this is to flip the switch on the PSU off for a couple seconds, then turn it back on, then everything boots fine.
I am going to check the RAM, as that was the only common link between the last failing system I had, and this computer. Do you think I should update the BIOS, or reset the CMOS? Thanks.
If there is an update for your bios I would suggest applying it after you get the system working properly again. It won't hurt to reset the cmos either, also be sure the smaller Ram is in slot A, some motherboards need it this way. Also are your RAM matched, I>E> both high/low density. Running with minimum RAM will rule out some of these questions so disregard any impertanant suggestions, and let us know how you come along.

Hey SirHanz,
Thanks for your quick response. There is a bios update available; I made a bootable CD to load it up. The RAM is a matched set of 512MB PC2100 DDR, not sure of the density (but have the same sticker labels and specs). I discharged the board by removing the power connection and holding down the power button for like 15 seconds. I still haven't tried it since my first post here, but I have an excess amount of time today, so I will be sure to post back. If my first test preforms as it did before, I am going to run MEMTEST86 on each individual stick and figure this thing out. I'll be back shortly with more info.
