My router disconnect frequently

Question: the connection to router disconnects OR the internet disconnects,
If router disconnect: then try being in range, choose a better spot, keep router in a good spot,
If internet disconnects, cal ISP get it checked, make sure you run ping test to make sure its consistent , here is an example,
E.g:
open run: type cmd, hit enter,
type : ping google.com -t
hit enter, it should give regular pings without timeouts....if too many timeouts, internet service has issues,
call them and report..

Trying to conect laptop to virgin media with netgear wireless adaptor the signal is strong but could not conect windows say to contact provider provider gave me number to enter 192.168.0.1 now i am lost

The router is not connected to the internet via Virgin media.

Your computer is connected only to the router wirelessly, that is why it says contact your internet supplier on how to connect the router successfully!

Internet doesn't stay consistently connected

belkin is famous for dropping its signal for no apparent reason, in my findings and dealings with several routers i have found "netgear" to be the best company not just for their products but for their customer service and tech support as well

Problem with router; Msn gets disconnected frequently.

It could be the proxy or firwall setting in the router.

Cant conect to internet

  • Wii Error Code 51300 - 51399
  • This error is caused by the Wii being unable to connect to the access point.

    To solve this error :

Try changing the channel of your wireless router to either channel 1 or channel 11 which can increase download speeds.

If your router is using WEP encryption
  • Ensure your key is hexadecimal, consisting of 0-9 or A-F only, no other special characters or letters.
  • 64 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 10 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.
  • 128 bit encryption requires your WEP key to be 26 characters consisting of numbers or leters A through F.

If your router is using WPA encryption, the Wii is compatible with :
    WPA - PSK(TKIP)
    WPA - PSK(AES)
    WPA2 - PSK(AES)

If your router is using MAC filtering, ensure the Wii MAC address has been added to the list of approved MAC address on your wireless router settings

Losing connection

Try to play first directly to the modem and check if it does the same problem coz maybe it's just your modem dropping the connection..

Frequent disconnection of internet service

HI rodelio,

Please give me the backbone of your committed internet rate (CIR), is it burstable bandwidth?  Actually router  is designed for Network Address Translation (NAT) which means it is better to have fast ISP that has committed internet rate (CIR). It is constantly happened for internet connectivity fluctuation cause of very low CIR specially when you are connected with more than 3 computers on the network setup.

Much better to used proxy server with linux, or Kerio Route Firewall for better performance of your browsing.

I am glad if you can extend your problem to me. I am here to help you.

Best regards,

Philip
